Gray is for the suit and tie crowd.

Bass Bote Blue is Beeyootiful!
I knew you would say that! :glare:

I'm just not all that thrilled with the color (colour for my Northern friends) and when you spend that kind of buxx I expect to be both wowed aesthetically and mechanically. Well so far only one gets the nod.

Achtung Mein Herr KJ stand your ground with the Graphite Metallic, same Farbe (colour) that the Panzer tanks left Wolfschutt wearing! Jawohl, es geht mir gut! Deutschland uber alles, Schatzie!

Tell yah what, trade straight across?

'79 was a good year, I was just ridding the training wheels off my 3-speed bicycle!

Betcha Fred likes her... it's "his" colour!

Just remember, a battleship will whoop the hell out of a bass boat.

Enjoy that baby blue. :D

Gawd thats a nice bike. Hmph. I hate you.

Not really. My envy is showing. Enjoy your new bike man its gorgeous. In either color :)

In '79 I was on a battleship gray bote, with big white numbers on the bow. It wasn't nearly as fun as that K16GT is gonna be.

I like gray on cars for the pragmatic reason that it requires less washing. Same would apply to bikes. But I have owned quite a few blue bikes over the recent years ('75 Suzuki GT550, '86 BMW K100RT, '01 Connie, '01 Triumph Trophy 900 & of course the current '05 FJR) and a couple'a Reds ('94 R1100RS, VFR800, '05 KLR650), couple of silvers (2000 Aprilia Pegaso Cube, '04 V-strom 1000) even one yellow (2000 Ducati M750). I think the bike that made me feel best about its color was that Monster 750. Damn that was asexy little bike. Too bad it was designed from some little guy from Italy, not me.

That's a lot of Blue you had over the years! we'll squint when reading those other colors ;)

Fred, you definitely win the most dedicated Blue-Man award on any of (my) Forums! I guess it makes for an easy pick when you go to your dealer for a purchase.. (fred)-"I'll take this model, but not in this color!" (mr.salesman)- "OK, we'll have one ready for you tomorrow in Blue sir!".

That might work except I am far too cheap frugal to buy a new bike.

Never have done that in my life. Very rarely will buy a new car.

I let other folks to realize the first few years of depreciation.

I forgot to mention, in appreciation of your purchasing a K16: BMW Motorraden sends you a "Garmisch Girl" for the weekend, Heidi on the right is 2006FJR's and you get Inga on the left! Don't thank me, tell Hans und Dieter en Berlin Bunker: Viel Danke Schoen!

Thanks Don (and Hans!)

Looks like sum nice loaner rides those Bavarian's provide. Wonder if my g/f knows my new bike comes with FWB's

Oh boy!

Congrats man!!! I pick mine up tomorrow morning at 9am!!! I never get tired of looking at these bikes.

Stopped by the new BMW Dealer here in town to check out one of these GT's... they are pretty stacked up with goodies on them.

Felt nice - going to go back and take one for a test spin... didn't have time to ride, guy told me I could drive around a 5 mile loop, guess there is no 2 hour test drives around here....

So I'm curious, have they fixed all the problems with the water pump with these... ?!?!?

Are others experiencing the same issues with final drive backlash noise, or has this been addressed with the new 2013 ?

Also curious on what people are paying for them now....

and with extras ?!?! top case, BMW headsets..? Navi ?

Thanks

Warp

5 mile loop? What a rip... ;)

Haven't been hearing any backlash issues on the late '13 models. BMW said they addressed several issues including the transmission so I would say this may have been included. Waterpump issue was addressed in an earlier revision, I think even some late '12 models had this change adapted.

Do your testdrive and see if you get hooked. MSRP prices are not very negotiable with Beemer dealers. You can however get freebies thrown in, like the $800 Garmin GPS option, some have gone the route of free engine bars, bag bars, the kickstand/ground LED lighting etc.

BTW- No DRL owl eyes YET! (still the normal LED owl eyes of course). DOT has not approved them as of this writing :(

Thanks TopSpeed, been following your journey....

He suggested I could go for a secondary ride if I wanted it....

I can't say that I don't still just love the **** outta my 05 Galaxy Blue FJR... She's been the best bike I have ever owned, drama free for the entire time, and will continue to be a stable mate. I can't ride super long distances with her and my lower back issues, 2 bulging and 1 ruptured, as long as I keep working out, I can keep those issues at bay thanks in part to the group buy Wilburs suspension has played a major part.

This has been part of my thoughts/hopes/plans to get longer distance comfort with.

Looking for incite on the rider comfort suspension in comparison to the FJR.
