Some of you are already aware of my wife's problem. She experienced breast cancer for which she completed treatment 4 1/2 year ago. On Dec 28th she got a severe pain in her back to which we both attributed to a pinched nerve. She had had the same problem a few months before and was treated successfully by our GP.

On Jan 29th the pain got worse and extended into her right leg. On Sunday Jan 31st she was transported to the hospital. It was determined that she had two fractured ribs and a fractured vertebrae. These were due to cancer settling into her bones. It also is affecting her right leg. After 12 days in the hospital and having the vertebrae "glued" back together her pain was reduced enough to allow her to return home.

She started radiation and chemo simultaneouly while still in the hospital and now has completed the radiation. The chemo will continue until some undetermined time in the future. It will depend on future tests, i.e. bone scans and MRIs. She is getting around with the use of a walker but still in in quite a bit of pain which is controlled by meds as much as possible. This is going to be a very tough and long battle but one of the best things we have on our side is she is a real fighter and will do all within her power to beat it.

Due to this and other reasons I decided to sell my FJR (not an easy decision). I was very fortunate to find a buyer, Andyman on this forum who will be picking it up in less than two weeks. As my wife's primary care giver I would not have much if any time to ride and I hated seeing the bike sit in the garage, knowing I could not get on it. Also if I kept riding and got smacked by a cager or screwed up and wrecked then my two kids (grown with families of their own) would have to take care of both of us. That was not a risk I felt I could take at this time.

We have a great support system in place with friends and family and lots of prayers being made everyday for Sharon. All prayers are welcome. Before closing I should mention that she and her granddaughter picked out her walker, a PINK ROLLATOR with oversiized tires and silver metal flake in the pink paint. She is pleased with it.

John

My prayers to you and your wife. My wife is a 7 year survivor and it is always in the back of your mind. Place your trust in the medical people they are there to help, and the medical advancement gives her the best chances in history. Godspeed.

John,

I'll be praying for Sharon, for you, for your family, for the doctors that help fight the cancer, and all that help you through this tough time. Screw the bike. It sounds like you all have much more important business to attend to for some time to come.

If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been married?

Dave

Sorry to hear this John. All my best to you and your wife as you fight this thing. :assassin:

Check in every now and then fill us in..and let us pray for you and your wife.

This is great that you are posting and we have the honor and privilege to support you and Sharon over cyberspace. Prayers still offered up and tonight will be the second or third time we do our daily ritual here.

I dunno...I'm goofy, but I'd love to see a pic of the walker...pink is cool...

May you two experience Peace and Comfort and may great wisdom be infused into every member of the medical team.

Amen

Mike

I'm fairly new on this board and I don't know the full history.

All I can say is I wish your wife and your family all the best. The right attitude, the right support system makes all the difference in the world, seems like you have that and more in place.

Thoughts and prayers will be with you guys.

Don't worry about selling the Bike, You can always get another one when Sharon beats this thing. Then you can enjoy it together.

Get Well soon Sharon.

All best wishes, hopes, dreams, and prayers flying to you both from the (un)frozen North.

Visualize the best outcome you can imagine - every day.
