Well, after a run last year of the PNW where we rented a 2008 Hondapotamus, we ended up buying one. A really nice ride, we went 193 miles on ot once and didn't even notice. Had to get gas. I got this one for a steal as it was last years model and I got it for way less than cost. No GPS or ABS. I've got my 2730's and I know how to ride so I don't think I'll miss either as a factory add on.

Still keeping the FJR as I love it and it's totally farkled out for LDR riding.

So how many of you out there have one of these as a second bike? I know Joe has one (I rode it into a U-Haul last year at SW-FOG!!) and I think a couple of others do too. Come on, fess up!

I don't have one but I am not too proud to admit I want one. I really like the styling updates to the rear section of the 'Wing. That two tone color scheme is very nice as well.

Bought a 2012 last yr. and put 3600 miles on it in 6 wks. then sold it.

Still kicking myself in the *** .............

Been there, done that. Upgraded the suspension on both ends to improve the piss poor ride, used a Walmart car seat pad to protect my tailbone from the bolt up sitting position, and had to replace the front fender after taking it to Mexico (the fender vibrated into 2 pieces because of the one legged damping in the front forks). I never did find a way to hide from the heat when the thermostats on the side radiators opened. After 20k miles I decided I would rather drive an Accord than ride a Goldwing.

I like the wing for two up and taking my time but the FJR is easier on my back. I'll keep the wing for this season and then decide if it's a keeper. One of my wing customers wants it for his wife if I sell it.

I think you will love it. You know Cec & I love ours.

Will not be at SW FOG this year.

Will miss it.

Joe

Nice, I've put 10k on my 08 since October after losing my 04 Feejeer to a deer.

I've been Darkside for a couple thousand miles now and it's working just fine. I really enjoy my Wing for LD work and my wife actually likes to ride it, she never (nor did I) think the FJR was very comfortable for the passenger. It have the Wind Bender windshield and it works great for us and I have to admit my ears really enjoy the "quiet air" after a long day in the saddle. Just added the Utopia backrest, very nice product.

It is different after coming off the FJR to ride a bike that actually encourages just cruise close to the speed limit but when I feel the need for having some real fun on the twisty mountain roads my KTM Supermoto T is a FUN bike to ride. After riding the Hippo the KTM feels like a trials bike

Had 3 different Wings before getting the FJR (83 1100, 84 1200, and a 98 1500se). Decided pushing a 900# bike around the country wasn't what I wanted any more, so sold the 98 (65k miles in ~2 years) and got the 03 FJR. Haven;t regretted it a day.

Can't justify 2 bikes at once.

Had a great GL1200, unfortunately destroyed by a forest rat in 2010.

Replaced it with a 2010, got it with everything but the air bag.

Don't have a lot of miles on it as of now; I use it mainly for long trips, which aren't going to happen until I get my knee repaired/replaced. Great bikes for their intended purpose, IMHO.

Nice looking 'potamus. I always liked the look of the yellow ones and thought I might get one some day, when I get old.

I guess I'm officially OLD. The Wing does serve a purpose and handles suprisingly well for a barge. Now If I could just get the Harley out of the way all would be good. Anybody want to buy a nice Sportster???? The FJR stays right here.

...so what are you bringing to Salida??

Well...the Wing of course! Have to try it out. Am bringing my riding buddy and his wife along too...with his new Wing!

Don't worry, we'll stay in the background and out of sight (at least we're not bringing Harleys!)
