Going to have to make him a shirt now...

Either I fell off or got left behind with the three kids to be the responsible adult while SOMEONE went off to the mountains to have a bit of fun :p Thank goodness for having teenagers to help babysit and living near the grandparents. No more shots without me ;)

Well since it's Dec 1st as I type this, I'd say there is alittle time to save up for my first EOM. I'll give up my Dunkin D coffee and drink the stuff in the office every day. Come on SUMMER!!!!! After 23 years living in either NC or Arkansas, I'm ready for any heat you want to throw at me. Remember, it's not the heat, it's the humidity ...... or is it the heat ........ no humidity ...... oh shoot I don't care. :yahoo:

It is definitely the humidity.

Rode to work today just so I could put on my Realtime stickers on the bags. Always nice to have a large heated garage to work in. Now I'm looking forward to the ride home to see just how bright these things are going up the road.

I am full of EOM discussion!...although I am wondering what BulletBrad is talking about.

Are you aware that EOM '09 planning has been picked up? It has! None of the hassle of yesterday's past... & nobody wanting to have anything to do with it. There was 10' pole marks all over the subject.

No idea what Brads on. I thought of busting on him for off-topic, but I'm the worst there is for doing that. ;)

No, I wasn't aware, though I caught a little whiff that some "deep southerner" had stepped up.

Who? Details, details, we want details!

The only detail that I can offer is Jason Williams (jwilly) has picked up planning. I am not terribly sure about where but will venture a guess that it's somewhere near Georgia.

He hasn't mentioned dates or anything of that sort.

You do know that NAFO2 is to take place in the SE region in 2010, right?

Awesome news! Jason is a great organizer. I will TRAVEL to Georgia for EOM if that is where it is.

And yes, I know about NAFO2 and can't wait. But that's not till 2010, right?

Really?

That's unfortunate... and certainly wasn't the agreement at the discussion TWN led at NAFO this past July.

The agreement was... that whichever group picked up the subsequent "NAFO" (which turned out to be EOM group), they would select a venue at the extreme "center of the country" portion of their usual region. This would encourage the most attendance as possible from all forum members.

This is why the WFO committee selected Colorado for the inaugural NAFO... because it was the state closest to the center of the country that is still sorta considered "western".

We thought the NAFO II folks would then select a venue in a similar fashion.... say, western Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, etc.

A venue whose state has beaches in the Atlantic ocean doesn't seem to meet this concept.

Bzzzt - Reading comprehension - FAIL!

Heidi was talking about J Willy picking up EOM, not NAFO (or did I fail?)

And I'm pretty damn sure the next NAFO location is still undetermined, but I'm strongly suggesting that it should be in Lewisburg WV. That place rocks!! Seriously, I cannot think of a location that would be better to "show off" to our Western Brethren. I just hope if we skip it for EOM in '09 that it will be even more appealing for NAFO '10!! :yahoo:

Dunno.... here's the sentence I was referring to....

A state that has Atlantic Ocean beaches doesn't seem in the spirit of what was agreed to.... which is quite a few 'SE' states, like Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, obviously Florida, etc.

Meah.... guess we'll see in 2010....

Georgia? Really, seems a bit far for Northern folks. Wouldn't it be better to consider Tennesee, Kentucky, Virgina, North Carolina or even W. Virginia again? Doesn't have to be Lewisburg. I would still try to attend regardless of where it was at, just makes it harder to be there due to the added travel days.

Nice thing about keeping it central to the Eastern half of the country is that it is pretty fair to everyone that makes the trip. I know proximity to great roads is of the highest priority, and I haven't traveled enough to know where the best roads are.

Just my two cents.

Chris

Gotcha. But I assume that since Heidi is from Nofuck Varginia she may consider the entire East Coast as the "SE Region".

Plus, personally I'd include WV in SE region, considering my more northerly view point!

But I wouldn't worry, Dale. We'll all make sure the next NAFO is someplace really cool.

One thing that's really cool about the East compared to what you lefty's are used to, is that you can ride a couple of days and traverse like a dozen states. See lots of different crazy different cultures. I mean, it's high density here.

There are many Central Locations being considered for EOM right now. Nothing is in concrete yet, but fear not. Just as soon as a place is decided, everyone will know.

It sure appears to me that the only reference to JWilly is in connection w/ planning EOM09. I saw NAFO2 mentioned just as a sidebar.

I'm from WV and I'm north of the Mason Dixon line.

Kinda makes me a northern hillbilly.
