Another option is Morgantown, WV. Lots of motels and such there and the roads in the north of WV are very, very nice.
Also, just east of Morgantown, in the western panhandle of Maryland, between Pennsylvania and West Virginia, is a nice town called Deep Creek.

Lots of good riding in that tristate area.

Deep Creek is very pretty. Stopped just north of their in Accident for lunch (Annie's.. highly recommended!) on our trip down and back. I know the Vulcan Forum guys on Delphi had a meet there and everybody raved about it.

That being said, I'd prefer down slightly further south on 219 :fans:

Snowshoe will most likely not be considered since it lacks a few things that are a "must have" nearby to the host hotel. They have a conference room & restaurant on premises... but that is it. I am not sure if there is a bar. I'd expect so. No place really close for gas, munchies, beer, smokes, alternate entertainment, etc. The organizers of this meet will be looking for more than a hotel that'll fit a boatload of people.

I absolutely adore WV & it is one of my all-time favorite places to ride. I believe that the Brier Inn was absolutely near perfect for EOM, too.

I feel very fortunate to live within a day's ride to get there, too. & I have folks there that I call good friends.

Please realize, the NAFO meet is going to need to fit a little different criteria than our normal regional meet.

You guyz do realize that there are folk who never leave the hotel to ride, don't you?

I, for one, didn't realize that was the case.

Why would anyone come to a National FJR Owners meeting and not ride?

And why would we want to intentionally provide special accommodations for said people?

I'm not being a wise ass (like I usually am ;) ), I'm quite serious.

Well....some might have passengers who only like a straight-line ride, some might be intimidated by WV mountain roads, and more than likely, they are too hung over from the night before to even THINK of getting on the bike to ride :dribble:

If memory serves, many said the same thing about Lewisburg.

A little research just might reveal that Snowshoe to be more suitable than a cursory glance has led you to believe.

There just may be a possibility, however remote, that you may be missin' the boat on this one....but yes, I will go to the corner and be forever quiet now.

No, he finally sobered up. I saw him.....

Haha, well, in the spirit of DPF, let me say that anyone that would trade one evening of drunken-ness for even a half hour of West Virginia roads, is a completer and utter FOOL!! (Not you, BJ )

Now if you can get your crazy good buzz on, and still venture out in the AM, then that's doin' it right.

It's a damned fine line between being a butt-head loser and living large. That's the real world struggle we all must face every day...

Pshaaa...

For who that applies, I offer the great service offered by the Brier Inn's very own Brier Patch Bar & Grill /w 54" flat screen tv. This is a good thing; when we're about 30 mins out from the hotel, we can call them, place our dinner & drink orders, and they can meet us in the parking lot with the refreshments...

I'm anxious to see what JWilly lines up. It's spitting snow here today, and that itchy funk is coming over me - I NEED TO RIDE!

Is it September yet?
