Just got back from a quick jaunt up RT 8 (from Connecticut) to RT 20 to Pittsfield and back. Every time I ride over the border on RT 8 I get reminded how nice a ride that road is. My company has branches in Pittsfield & Torrington so made the ride to the two of them this morning. Very light traffic, only a little construction so was able to put the big beast thru some nice turns at speed

Only sorry I ddn't bring the camera - I have a feeling that after the rains tonight / tomorrrow it will be bye bye pretty leaves up there. The small river running alongside RT8 on CT / MA border really looks good. Only downside was the temp this am. When I left my house it was 48, by the time I was north of Torrington it was 38 and I had to switch gloves.

All in all a fun ride!

I like taking RT 7 up from Norwalk thru Kent, then turning east on RT 44.

At Winstead I take RT 8 home till I hit RT 68. Then take backroads to North Haven.

Hope there are still leaves on the trees for my next ride :yahoo:

This may be a good weekend for a run to Marcus - then up 7

I used to do this almost every weekend. Breakfast at the Dairy, photograph bikes & bikers (https://molaver.org/md1.htm) and then head north on 7. There are a ton of really nice roads off 7 - in Kent there is 341 you can take to 45 or 202 and on the western side there are some very quiet country roads going into NY. Or you can take 7 N from Kent to 4 to 43 to 63 South & head home. So many roads, so little time. . .
