Hey guys, in case others have similar leanings I will be installing a Dynotune system shortly. Before (Why, oh why, etc.) the comments-I do not consider the fJR all that powerful next to bikes I've ridden and I have owned several drag bikes with nitrous in the past. This system is a bit different because it is a "fogger" that works through the airbox instead of manifold intakes. I've been intrigued by it and because I can never leave anything alone...you can guess the rest. It alters the fuel delivery by tricking the air temp sensor in the airbox into adding fuel. Also, I have a Techlusion to add more fuel if necessary (also works well with a Power Commander). I'll be going with a dual bottle set-up, so if any interest, stay tuned! :yahoo:

You are one crazy m.f. Good luck and post lots of pictures. Are you planning anything for pistons and cams?

Schwing!!!!

'Bout damned time somebody hot-rodded an FJR. Can't wait for the results!!!

Usually when you add Nitrous ypu have to add additional gas to keep the ratios correct, how is that going to be accomodated throught the airbox?

From what he posted, I assume that the nitrous squirt to the airbox lowers the temperature at the temp sensor, which induces a longer pulse for the injectors. Enough to make up for the additional oxygen in the combustion chamber from the nitrous oxide now a part of the mixture, though?? Seems something less than well metered to me, but then again . . . I'm just guessing from what is in the first post of this thread.

Just out of Curiosity, why Nitrous on a FJR ? Do you intend to Drag race it? If not, what is it that you are trying to accomplish? I guess that I must be getting old! . . . although, in some ways, it would be a lot of fun to have a really light weight (if that was possible) FJR, with a stock appearance, that made 200 rwhp, and capable of humbling all the squids on their Gixxers. It will be interesting to hear about (and hopefully see) what you accomplish, Keep us posted.

keep us in the loop

it is great to see/hear someone follow the sage's meaning of life: "it's faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and more money" :D

ride safe

Dude,

Don't let the old women here discourage you. Rod that ***** to the Max!

Beats comparing satellite radio installations.

:)

Three thoughts... first the WHY questions...

#1 WHY stop at a FJR? WHY not go all the way and turbocharge a Wing?

#2 If you're going to go through these changes, why not start with a lighter platform? Something appealing about riding a big heavy FJR on one wheel?

#3 How is long will the FJR's engine, trany, and drive shaft components withstand the extra stresses before "repairs" become a common word for you? :cray:

But hey, each to their own. Go for it! :D

I'm watching this thread close! I think is just what I need to keep up with Haulin Ashe!! :p

JW

The why question is an easy one to answer: Because he can.

I love it :yahoo:

Also from a purely selfish standpoint, he will be performing a huge public service for the rest of us in the (non-drag racing) FJR community. He will be "stress testing" an otherwise stock FJR engine and drive train. What better way to see what kind of abuse it can withstand?

Karmak,

The Techlusion tuner does not do anything with timing..... Last time I checked,, NOS delivery required a timing ******** system/map to prevent pre-detonation. If you tune with NOS incorrectly, you will need some of your money for a new motor that isn't so OVERDONE!!

Hope it works out for ya,

WW
