Crap... it's worse than I thought... you want us to start up a "Bring a bum to Colorado" fundraiser thread?
*SNORT*

Well, first: it'd be more like "Return a bum to Colorado", and thanks for the kind thought, but no need for a fundraiser -- no kids, no wife and I rent, so it isn't a matter of funding -- my problem has been wimmens and moving back and forth across the Sierras. Obviously, I have to get control of those problems.

Funny thing is that there's a Blackbird owner (now living in Denver), goes by "rcskisfast" on the couple XX fora I frequent, who lived in Steamboat Springs from the time I did ('76-'78) until 2000. Night before last, we talked on the phone for about 90 min of reminiscing: about motorcycles, skiing, getting divorced in Steamboat with its 4-1 men to women ratio, and about mutual acquaintances, legendary parties, powder days, bumps and ski buddies. We HAD to have ridden the same gondola (known amongst the locals as the "gon-doobie" back then -- hadn't heard THAT in a while) at least once, partied in the same places; hell, maybe sat a few paces or even next to one another at bars and parties way back. We knew and skied with some of the same people. Small world, and that just redoubled my resolve to get back to Colorado and ride some of the roads I used to ride on my Kawi Z1, and to visit some of the places that were magical to me when I lived in Boulder (making Hansen ski boots) in '73-'74 and then in Steamboat from '76-'78 (finished undergrad in Reno in between and went straight back to that magical place). Can't think of a better occasion than NAFO as the focal point to plan it all around.

Welllll, that's what you say NOW.....do we have your permission to quote this back to you once the excuses start next June or July?

...So I guess this means we have clear sailing through Oregon then!! Hows 'bout a trooper line up for each state, kinda like our own escort service? :D

I'm in, see y'all in Colorado next year.

Baring a chest full of broken bones, I'm there! Ya'll just think it was a party this year. Wait till I show up. (I have my own Star Wars version of Monopoly!)

We'll find someplace for "special parking" (non-elitist).

Er, I'll have the sheriff save you a space out by the dumpster for your purty, wittle scooter. ;)

arrive early and leave late cause there's gonna be ALOT of folks to party with!
michelle, dibbs on the airplane seat nexxt to you to start the party...

Maybe we should "raffle" tickets to the airplane/banquet seats next to Michelle???? :dribble: Wouldn't that make a great NAFO fund-raiser! :yahoo:
Great idea on the banquet seats and I know which charity I would want the money to go to. BUT! There will be no airplane seats (unless i crash while in CO and have to fly home)!! I will be riding to CO, dammit! :clapping:

Now I know what y'all are thinking...yeah, right! She said that last year! And I did, when we all thought we were going to Denver. Still coulda done that. But Park City is what worked out. Ok, great! But then a foot surgery tapped me financially in April and then another vacation in May tapped me time-off wise. So i had to fly this year. It all worked out best for me and I had a killer time in Utah, so no regrets here!

CO is really looking like a go, for me to ride there, assuming all hell doesn't break loose in the next 11 months. And I'm hoping to really make a trip out of it and see as much as i can and hopefully take 2 weeks off. I'm not planning any other trips next year til NAFO is over!

There, I have set my priorities straight! :D

If all the dates work out I will include NAFO. About this same time Foothills BMW in Lakewood,Colorado sponsors a ride going over 10 Colorado Mountain passes covering 450 to 500 miles and 100,000 feet of elevation change. I am going to Denver to visit my brother and the two of us participate in that ride. After the event(s) we will be going to Bronco Training camp. I hope to include the NAFO party in my trip and will watch this thread with the intention of hooking up with some of you.

Blah, blah, blah...BMW blah blah....a ride going over 10 Colorado Mountain passes covering 450 to 500 miles and 100,000 feet of elevation change.
Can you get the route map? :dribble:
