No Eric, a mini power washer. The big commercial unit took up too much space.

And busted my face when it was in a mood once..

Dolly will be pleased.

Update.. This is why we need to condition our fuel or, on carb'd bike be sure they are drained..

A few days back I pulled the intake/ carbs off as the right two cylinders were running crappy . Discovered I had a quart of amoebas subsiding in the tank.

Anyway..

the best looking float float bowl. Not sure why it's orange, I suspect the rust and Amoebas. This crap was the consistency of jello.. Tasted like shit though.

Float and jets etc.. This was before the total dis assembly as I had to see it.. Damned kid at Christmas

Yep tore down again!!! Seems some dofus forgot to put the O ring on one end of the feed tube between the carbs on the right hand side..

Nuts!!! Ok though as it's going to be easier to pull the motor to replace the stator with 'em outa the way.

Big Shout out to Brian Boles of the Az Beemers gang. The guy made this job a shit ton easier.

I thought you were doing the auto alternator. The only carbs I hate more are the V fours.

I was going to Ray. But shop time for the brackets was stupid.. They don't amount to much and I might just attempt to fab some up myself.

Found a web page with pics and directions but it's rather vague.

It was a some bitch getting them out without dropping the motor down a bit but it only took about an hour.. Not as bad as the fours you mention. That job just plain suks.

Looks like your ride will be running perfect for our Wing meeting in Colorado next year.

Air compressors have stator problems all the time.
ODot, put the butt plug back in and enjoy the ride!

leave the diagnostics for the rest of us.
Hey, tell your six hairy wives to cook you up a bowl of bite my bunghole.....and change your battery while yer at it. I'd get grumpy iffn my buttplug was low on watts.....

Fun project bike very much needed for an ol' phart like you...

Me brother had one such said motobike of similar vintage that I restored and sold for his widow..

It was, really, a fun and wonderphul motobike.

Bust, when the alternator quit on ours it had about 30K miles on it. The replacement was supposed to be much better than the original and I can say that we never had any problems from the charging system again afterward. When I totalled the bike in '95 it had 87,756 miles on it. You probably definitely have access to better info than we had back then. I am enjoying the reports on this old Wing.

Do like my bud did and put a car battery in RH bag, 3 bottles o' whiskey in the LH bag.

When you run out o' battery juice, head to the LH bag and soon you won't care you ain't a going no-wheres...

true story..

I still have a set of ebay carbs I got for spares for my '86; yours if you want them. Never got around to going through them, they were sold as a complete, functioning set.

Nice offer lone.. what are you looking to get out of them? Old boy down the road has an 86 he's ripping up now.

It had been sitting neglected in a bird house, ok barn full "O" birds since '93. Haven't seen the carbs on his yet but if there is an issue this would be something he wouldn't have to search for.

You're welcome to whatever spares I have, not asking anything for them. I don't see another GL1200 in my future (much as I liked my '86), so they won't be doing me any good. If you PM me a shipping address, I'll box them up and send them your way. Not sure what all I have beside the carbs, but should have at least a couple filters also.

So how much did they pay you to take this POS off their hands?

Flood bike? Maybe you've already said.

Looks like a boat anchor to me.

Looks like a lot of work Barry. If I would have known you were looking for a Wing I would have given you first crack at my '97 I sold a couple of months back.

I'm sure you wouldn't have had as much fun though...mine was in pretty much perfect working order.

Great winter project!

Nice offer LoneRider!

Oh, don't be offering nice motobikes to Barry. He needs wrench therapy time...

Is that when somebody slaps the side of his head with a wrench. If they are gonna do that then hit him in the ass cause that's where his head is most of the time.
