Shawn, I think the answer to your question is no. I am pretty sure that Garmin & Google use different companies for their maps. Garmin using Navteq & I forgot the name of who Google uses. So, I am pretty sure... not positive, that they will not coincide.

On another note... my, that's a big camera you've got there!

Iris, I can now comm with you to let you know that I do indeed need to pee at that DD. I now have bike-to-bike!... which I am finding to be VERY cool.

Dang...so..anyone have any pointers as to *how* to create those files?

LOL Thanks! Because of one of my gigs, we were lucky enough to have Olympus invite us to shoot at the US Open (tennis) last summer and they loaned us some amazing lenses to shoot with.

Hey guys,

I've been busy lately and trying to put the week end together. Can someone post up with the itinerary. I'm getting confused as to the where and whens.

Cheryl and I will be riding up Thursday night. So we are up to whatever will be going on Friday morning, night and same for sat. My GPS does not have the capability to download or upload or whatever so I need just times and locations of where to be.

Also, the invitation still is open for anyone wanting to stay w/ us. I rode up this week end to meet Cheryl at the cabin to get things opened up for the season. So it is all set. We will be staying thru Sunday night. We were thinking also of having a BBQ on Sunday.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Tim

Hey Tim, how far from Geezer are you guys? He's in Phoenecia. I'd very much like to attend your barbeque on Sunday. Will have to work plans for that. Really looking forward to seeing you guys, Heidi

Hi Tim and Cheryl....here's the latest:

There's a small ride in the Catskills on Friday June 13th, leaving Latham Diner Parking lot at 7:30am and meeting others at Sweet Sue's for breakfast in Phoenicia at 9:00. We'll probably leave Sweet Sue's for a ride approx 10ish.

There's another ride on Saturday June 14th, leaving Latham Diner at 8:30. If you want breakfast, show up earlier...like 7ish.

If you scroll back a couple of pages, there are more detail......

And Tim, if all else fails... beer at Geezers!!! ;)

FYI, some folks are talking doing dinner on Friday night in Latham. Since I will be living 1 1/2 hour away, we decided to stay at Geezers & eat & drink. Geez extended an invitation to those who would like to join us on Friday night.

Also, there is dinner on Saturday night. I supposed that since we are 1 1/2 hours away, again we will miss the dinner crowd since we are the red headed stepchildren.

So, are you closer to Latham for dinner or closer to Phoenicia for dinner?

He's closer to Montauk for dinner.

St James is on Long Island...

Thanks Iris,

Now I can figger it out.

Probably going to go right to Sweet Sues. 'bout hour or so south. Won't have to get up too early. We have a long ride Thursday night, depending if I have to work. If not we will ride up Thurs. morning.

Heidi,

Looks to be the same distance for us either way. Just that it will be a safer ride at night to go to Latham. Straight run off I88. I don't like to do the backroads in the dark. Too many critters. I almost got me a porkupine Friday night riding up. Hit nothing but rain the whole way. Took me 6 hrs., and my new boots leaked bad. Wet feet and tired, heading up the mountian the last 4 miles, ugly ******* was creeping across the road. Saw him just in time to go around.

Actually, the dinner plans for Saturday are, a stop in Bolton Landing on Lake George, on our way back to Latham (part of the ride). And depending on the interest and time of day, we could stop in downtown Saratoga for coffee after we leave Bolton Landing. I'm just sayin.....

Boy, you really know how to make a redheaded stepchild feel like a fat readheaded stepchild.

That sounds like a good plan. Heidi and I can slab it back to Shandaken if it gets dark by the time we get back to the Albany area.

BBQ on Sunday also sounds like a good idea to me. Heidi and I (and anybody else who's interested) can ride the northern Catskills in the morning, maybe take a look at Otsego Lake, and stop for some eats in the afternoon.

Heidi,

LOL....you really need to get a map (didn't I send you one?).

I hope you guys (geezer and you) can stay for Saturday's dinner at Bolten Landing. As Jim said, it's part of the ride on the return trip but still in the Adirondacks.

I'm getting really stoked about this ride. Going in for my 8,000 mile service tommorow and a new rear tire. Ordered a new seat this morning - my big farkle for the year. Making my load out list and list of things to remember to do already. I need a weekend away from work so bad - I'm really looking forward to this - and meeting everyone. Looks like I'll be spending the night in Latham on Saturday too and then heading back to Rochester Sunday morning. Can't wait to come home with lots of pictures of new friends and FJRs all lined up.

Yes, we'll plan on having dinner in Bolton Landing on Saturday. I won't be drinking, but I doubt anybody will since everyone will still have a good ride to get home from there.

Yes, Latham is still quite a distance from Bolten Landing.....probably over an hour.

Since it'll be June, the days will be much longer and I imagine it'll be light out when we head back towards Latham. It'll probably be light out until at least 9:00pm.... but we'll still have to be carefull dodging the evening critters.

Iris, no I didn't get any maps. I got 2 gps files... but no maps.

I looked at an atlas to see where Jim was talking about. If you have maps... specifically .pdf style maps, please send them to me.

Love, the fat redheaded stepchild
