JeezERS, Papa! And you call US 'hosers'?!

It was only -20 there. Hell, it's -24 here right now. I had a ski date for this morning but, since I'm not a hoser, I bailed.

In some amazing feat of global-warming hocus-pocus, it's supposed to be -4 by 13:00h and zero (?!) by 16:00h. And then be a February-in-New Brunswick version of balmy for the rest of the month

WTF ? :dribble:

Happy Valentine's Day, My Sweetie! Your Avatar today is so funny! Miss Donna and I are going to celebrate Valentine's this upcoming weekend at the NHRA Drag Race Nationals at Firebird Raceway here in Chandler. Back in the day My Donna had a "hot" Chevy Malibu SS and all of her Brothers were drag racers too. She still has a "lead foot" driving her Lexus.

I have to ask this question Mi Querida Magnifica: Are the temperatures you listed above in Celsius or in Fahrenheit? If they are in Celsius I am going to have a stroke, you know how much this Gila Monster hates the cold! https://weather.aol.com/forecast/todays//usa/arizona/chandler/id/usaz0034;jsessionid=3A5FC2CA303028B10C8905C9FFC8EE4A 72F this weekend in Central ZonieLand!

CELSIUS! It's the way I roll, baby. Bookmark THIS :p I'll remind you that -40C = -40F :cold:

Your Valentine's Day celebration sounds groovy.

If you'd stay home for a damned weekend, I'd pop down for a few days :D

That seems like a lot of $$$ for a 15 hour ferry ride, I hope its a nice day so you can get some good pictures.
MCRIDER007: My Bank of America VISA bill arrived today and I have to admit to a case of Buyer's Remorse. It came out to $698.98 US Dollars and BofA hit me with a Foreign Transaction Fee of $20.96 USD for a total of $719.94. Hit me with sticker shock!

Oh well, it does let us make our traveling schedule though! This'll be the 4th CFR for we Stanley Boys. Each and every year FJRGuy - Jeff C. promises Seth and Chuy that we will see polar bears. We will be so pissed off if we don't see those furry *******s!

And we don't want to see Hoser fjrob1300 all dressed up in a white polar bear costume again. Seth now sees through that one, especially since Rob is always walking around with a beer can in his hand and smoking a big fat cigar! jes' sayin' and nuff' said!

Looks like a 3.0% transaction fee, that's probably a standard VISA charge and what we all will be paying in Canada (probably less expensive than converting cash). Don't miss the ferry or you will really have Buyer's Remorse!

Works the other way, too. Which is why I have a USD VISA card for my US adventures

What happens when you pay your USD VISA in Canadian dollars? Do you get the official exchange rate that day or are there fees on that payment?

According to the Superbowl ads the Polar Bears walk around drinking Coke. This is only true of the gay Russian Polar Bears. The Manly-men Canadian Polar Bears eat tourists, wash them down with Canadian Beer and then enjoy a good Cuban cigar afterwards.

I have to "buy" USD at the bank when I pay. I wonder if you're considering the "official" exchange rate to be the one that's published? Don't be misled.

There's a markup on currency - same as any other product. IIRC, the 'spread' is usually around 2.5 points either way (buying or selling - you're not going to come out 'ahead'!) But, banking was, what, 4 careers ago?! I'm old and forgetful :p

My point is: even though we hear that the currencies are 'at par', it won't work that way when you're actually buying or selling.

ps - Banks make the mafia look like pikers :assassin:

How are you guys booking the room? Do I just call and book or is there a discount code I need to utter?

I registered and paid fees, the website shows I am confirmed registered, but I have received no email about Registration confirmation yet or the hotel code.

Sam just call and tell them you are with the FJR group and you will be able to book....if you really want to code Jeff posted it here a few pages back...

And Don keep your eyes open for penquins too....Polar bears love to eat penguins didn't you know.
