The official Yamaholic suspension tuning class and rear shock install on Wheaton's bike will begin at 4:00 EST on Oct 14. Please write down some notes as to how your bike feels (dives too much, wallows, pushes, harsh, etc) so we can tweak per your needs.

PM me for my address (north of Columbus) to any newcomers. Starship, you'll have no excuse being from Marysville! All are welcome to come by. Will have some dinner at around 6:30 if anyone wants to stay for that. Bring plenty of beer for me, Wheaton, Valetz, and escapefjrtist :D :D

Doc..stop on by on your way out for dinner! We'll have plenty for all. It's only about an hour from the hotel so it will be a good place to rest for a bit anyway.

But more importantly, the Fall Ramble will be a blast! Looking forward to riding in a long line of FJR's along some very scenic roads!

drinking 'old swill'
Just got a flashback from college...

Howz about a local microbrew? Something you can't find everywhere? We have very few local brews here, but tons of Ohio wine (which frankly is way better than French or Californian, IMO).

Old Swill was premium during college. When we were really hard up we sprang for Huber beer. It came in an 8 pack of long necks for $1.80. :puke:

And don't forget about falstaff in the plastic crate shich was worth more than the beer. The jokes undert the bottle caps were fun about 2 cases into it. if ya didn't shit yourself.

Maybe escape could bring some sugar beet home made wine? :alcoholic:

Yamaholic,

Have you got a revised route yet? I know you were looking to make the route a little longer after your prelim run through.

However, keep in mind, it's an hour each way to YammyHAULic's flop. That's an extra hundred miles round trip just to get back and forth to the meeting place...

Of course we DO want to make it worth the trip over.

Well, I've totally changed the route! To be honest, we can dynamically change the route as we see fit depending on your input after the first 1/3 of the day.

So...without further waiting...here is the route!

Meet Rt 13/204 at Marathon Gas Station at Thornville

Travel Rt 13 South. Rt 13 will merge with Rt 37 and 93.

Follow Rt 37 through New Lexington

Take Rt 555 South off Rt 37

At Rt 78, turn Right (West) to Glouster

Break

Take 78West to Rt 33. Take 33 East to 691.

Turn Rt on 691.

At Rt 56/691 intersection, turn right (West). Follow Rt 56 (west) to South Bloomville. Left at 56/664, then quick right into Jimbo's

Lunch at Jimbo's bar and grill (check out the vintage racing/hillclimbing stuff).

Rt 56 East to 374

374 North to 180 N/E

180 N/E to 33 East.

33 East to 93 North at Logan

At new straightsville, take 595 S/W

Break at Zalewski state forest

595 to 278S

278S to County Rd 11 (at Zaleski State Forest)

County rd 11 to 328 North

328 North to 33.

End ride at 33/328

Yamaholic crew will travel 33 West towards lancaster to I-70W to 315N in Columbus.

Get ready to ride some serious fun roads, boyz!!!

I do need a volunteer for someone to take the rear position. Hopefully someone who has been in the area before! Any takers?

Oh mann...now I have to get another map and highlight the (new) route again.

Seriously Mike, looking forward to the ride and meeting everyone this weekend. I don't know my way around, but if there aren't any other takers...I'll be sweeper for half the ride.

See you at the house on Friday!

I can also take sweep if need be Mike. We can talk about it over that great thing you are doing for me with the suspension :agent:

Looks like a great time! Really looking forward to this.

And so far it looks like good weather for saturday!

Vvroomm, Vvroomm!!

YammyHAULic, you had to work pretty hard at those choices, dintcha?

So many roads, too many choices!

WOOHOO!!!!!!

Hey, youz guys... I got my FJR1300 jacket from Thailand today. It's too big for me. I normally wear an L and this is an XL. Too big in the belly AND too long in the sleeves.

Any of you XL's want to buy it at my cost ($60), I'll bring it to the Ramble and let you check it out. NICE jacket, just too "blousey" on me. Probably go back and order an L after parting with this one.

Rocket-

Sure bring the jacket! And yes, deciding on these roads was not easy. I wanted to keep the miles down to around 275ish. After a pre-run (the second time around in my MR2 Turbo :coolio: ) , I found too much chip-seal, gravel, and construction on other routes. So instead, this is scenic ride with tons of rollercoasters, twisties and hilly views that avoids civilization.

I have purposely ended the ride in an area that can be ridden more if we end too early and you guys want more (I'm perfectly willing to keep going). Given that it's dark at 7:00ish now, ending it at 4:00 or so isn't a bad idea.

Wheaton-

I guestimate 8 or 9 of us this time around. No one will have the weather as an excuse! BTW, did you get your bike running yet?!?!?!

Thanks G and W for offering to run sweep!

See everyone at 9:00 this Saturday, Rt 13/204 intersection!

Yeah Yammy,

Yeah bike went to Galena, IL last weekend.

Looking forward to FRI, SAT, & SUNDAY.

Looks like you got a great route set up.

I'll bring the $$ for the shock and some beer. Thanks again to you and your wife for putting up with us.

I'll be leaving Wheaton about 6am and taking the little state routes to get over to your place...makes the ride alot more enjoyable.

Oh, BTW, how did your wife like the Parrothead concert @ Wrigley? :p

You kids have fun! For gods sake be careful!!! :D

Seriously....... a deer strike at the dottering speeds you guys go would be a real bummer........

Takes lots of pics......... and I'll have a cold adult beverage in your honors on Saturday.
