Hi There! I'm new to the forum (just picked up my '06 FJR last weekend). Was wondering if you all might like 2 additional riders? We'll have to put up with my buddies Interceptor though.
Also, anyone know about how long the ride is in time and/or miles? Thanks! Look forward to chatting in the future.

Van
Welcome, Van, you and your friend are added to the list. Distance and time? All day : I just did 350+ miles starting in Sonora @ 0900--108 to 395 to Topaz, then 89 through Markleeville to 88 back to Elk Grove. (This is a rather "social group" so a roadside rest stop = 30 min) We had a nice loooong lunch...I was back home in 9 hours, so figure a little less distance but close to the same amount of hours. NOTHING is set in stone.

We'll use a 0900 meet time inPlymouth. This will give those coming a greater distance time to get to the meet point.

The meet point for us locals is the gas station in Plymouth (the only one) on Hwy 49
There is more than one gas station in plymouth. My best guess would be the Shell station and mini mart. I'm sure mm2 will set us straight. :p :D :p

Okay, Bill, you're added.

OPEN PASSES: JUNE 24th
Place : Plymouth, CA:The gas station, the only one, on the South end of town, East side of Hwy 49

Well, I suppose you could go to the Mom & Pop 2-pump gas station on the Southwest corner of Hwy 49 and Fiddletown/Old Sacramento Road, across the street from Marlene & Glen's restaurant (Breakfast anyone?) and wait for us to ride North and make a right hand turn to head East on Fiddletown Road.

Or you could go to the South end of town (or if you are riding into Plymouth on Highway 49 from Jackson Highway "16") to the multi-pump, major brand, mini-mart gast station on the East side of Hwy 49 where the rest of us will be meeting. You know, the place where we've met before.

You all know that "I" call them Union 76 because I really don't remember and don't care much either. I figgers yuh kood faller mah di-rections en thet shudda gotcha thar, et thuh playce whar we'ens is gunna meet-up, summers nere thuh waaayyy South end uh thet 3-block long "downtown" area uh Plymouth. :p

OK Steve, you're right :) I just re-read Mike's original post -- "the only one on the south side of town"

:p :D

Where is Mike anyway? He's supposed to be calling me.

MIIIIKE !!

Okay, Coyote and sbtech are on the list.

Robert, will Linda be joining? If you promise to be really good  and ride with the other couples? :D And no written performance awards.

Some of us more South-county folks could meet Skyway and Uberkul in Jackson. Dennys @ 0700? Brad, Ian?
That knocks off some of my back roads warm-up ride but a ham cheese and mushroom omelet beats an Eggo any day! Mels would be a good option as well.

Jim, my ex brother inlaw, will ride with us on his K1200S. One more for the ride.

Whats up with the meeting place out of Sac. Breakfast or just Plymouth?

Madmike -

I (and probably Robert Van Houtte?) will not be making the Open Passes ride with you folks. We have turned this weekend's trip (june 22-25) into a fishing trip/campout/Open Sierra passes FJR Extravaganza! We (4 of us Central Coasters) will be camped out at Grover Hot Spring on Friday night and will be breaking camp Saturday at around noon. Maybe we'll see you guys at 12:00 PM or so for lunch in Markleeville at the sandwhich place? From Markleeville, we'll be heading toward home over Monitor Pass to Lee Vining and spending the night there at the Lakeview Lodge before ascending Tioga Pass for the return to the Central Coast over SR 41 on Sunday.

George, it sounds like you guys have a lot of fun planned. We'll miss you but I completely understand....and don't blame you at all. Since the group has gotten so large, I am planning on letting everyone find there own place to eat. There's no use to "overwhelm" any of the 3 establishments in town (Well, uhmmm, there used to be 3!?!?!?). I plan on eating at the sandwich place, so we'll look forward to seeing you there.

Ahhhkk -

Don't know if we'll be there or not.

Bike went in a coupla days ago for a full service, and change out the fork springs. Got a call this pm -- seems we have been riding around (for I don't know how long) on bent forks !!

New forks are being ordered and will be replaced ??? - dunno yet.

I'm keeping my arthritic fingers crossed - best I can <_<

Bummer Roger :(

Any ideas as to what caused them to bend?

Ian,

I can only think of our "low side" in Idaho, at WFO-3. That was July/Aug 2004.

The bike was checked and repaired about 2 months later, so if the forks were bent then, it went unnoticed.

I noticed no difference in the handling (but what do I know  ) but the tech today picked up the problem when the forks were being readied for the new springs.

"Money, money, money - must be funny - in a rich man's world" -- I'll never know

Rogdndeb : Ask your insurance man and see if you can back charge because it was not found and was part of your claim . The failure of the part was after the fact but still part of the problem . Insurance companies do it all the time. They did it on my truck when a tire blew an did over $2000.00in damage.

I will not be going on the pass ride will be in Oregon for relatives wedding a must to attend.

Will be out for a fathers day ride with the boy over at the coast andhave some of that there see food.

well happy fathers day to all and all of those that want to be. weekend rider :yahoo:

Skyway???????
Just now saw this.

Not sure yet about where I plan to hook up with the group. I will confirm with MM2 before departure. Brekkie in Jackson does sound good though. :dribble:

Bluestreek - Let Cindy know that I will be with a passenger for this ride.

FYI - I will be road testing a new farkle, a nifty little camera. I plan to mount it down low on the rear swing arm pointing backwards, so everyone be sure to bring your riding skills along, cause I'm gonna show everyone the NorCal group as soon as I get home. :D
