Panman, Mr. & Mrs.BeamerReamer, Mrs. AuburnFJR and I will leave Friday at 2 PM. (Unfortunately due to our route and the time of day we will be rolling through eastern Oregon, we will miss Rays RTE. We'll have to catch him another trip.)

We wanrted to try something we had not done, which was incorporate a saddle sore 1000 into the trip which we will do on day 2. It gets us to the Grand Canyon quickly and allows us time to smell the roses through several national parks as we roam around. Here is a quick picture of the route:

We will be hitting many National Parks, along the way, 4 corners, the million dollar highway, bear tooth pass and many others.

You can follow us on spotwalla (if I work it correctly this time) Spotwalla Link

I just want to say, for the record, as a member of this 10 state tour attack team- that we are total dumb-asses. A SS1000? On vacation? Up at 4:30 AM, dodging deer, chasing witnesses, gathering receipts, with girls no less. And to make it worse, our particular version which starts in Pasco, WA and ending in Williams, AZ is 1100 miles. Had to be a pretty dim bulb to plan that into the mix. Maybe we could just go ahead and make it three bikes with trailers - oh so many more wheels to go flat.

I can just hear the whining over the intercom now: "Are we there yet? I'm tired. I have that knot between my shoulders. Oh, so that is what monkey butt feels like. Everything hurts. I need to pee." I suspect that will last only the first hour though until Colleen tells me to shut up.

Make sure you go into Grand Teton National Park and take the Jenny Lake loop. You will want to stop at the Jenny Lake overlook, located at point 'B' on my linked map: Clicky.

Probably my favorite place on planet earth.

Also, you might want to include Chief Joseph Scenic Byway in your travel. I think it is better than the Bear Tooth Pass.

Ok, can't pass on the favorite place on planet earth. I will find a way to squeeze it in. We have had Chief Joseph in and out, just having hard finding time not being retired and all...I will get it in there.

So if we want to hit Bear tooth and Chief Joseph, should we just run Chief Joseph and then turn around and ride it back? Looks like 90 miles round trip.

That's what I would do. A stop in Cody for fuel, lunch or refreshments would be a good idea too. ;)

Last Sept. I went to a conference in Vegas and made almost the same trip thru colorado and Utah. The area around Cortez (the mesa verde) is really neat. If you can run up to Telluride from there. It's about 150 miles round, iirc, but beautiful.

Well don't forget 14A & 14 I mean what the hell!

Beamer we can always hit that stuff on a Black Hills trip!

When I came back from Golden I took a quick run thru the Black hills saw the Devils Tower and did just that 14, 14A, The Chief Joseph biway, the Bear Tooth then passed tru Red Lodge on the way to Columbus! A day to remember.

Come to think of it we could drop the trailers and make it a quick Run????????????????
