My upcoming ride is closing in fast! I am planning on leaving West Palm Beach, FL

Saturday night around 7:30pm and riding to Key West for the start of my UCCC ride. I

decided to give up the "Fresh Start" in Key West with a motel stay. Instead I will save

some $cash and spend the endurance energy and start from home.

I am running WAY behind on prep. and planning for this ride. So I

will throw up my SPOT Tracking here: https://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=46ce4fa00fbd4b81f

and I will try and post more details before I depart.

Good luck! Makes me tired just thinking about it

Do you have Ryan's Deadhorse to KW run in your sights? If you don't amke a wrong turn, you could have him at an advantage

Go Tony, GO!!!!

Though I think you are foolish for giving up your Key West start. What's a few measly dollars and hours in the context of such an epic ride. You are SO close. Do the UCC!

The thought of you on this ride will help me keep my BBG attempt in perspective. I'll be close to wrapping up shortly after you set off. Best of luck, ride safe and reach out if you need to. I'll be watching the SPOT track when I get back home.

Have a great trip Tony, and don't forget your Assistance List

On a trip like this one (or any one for that matter) you never know when you might need some extra wrenches.

Sorry about unclear wording. I plan to start in West Palm Beach around 7:30, ride to Key West

the same night. And start the ride on the clock at midnight in Key West. Doing a there and back

for the UCCC.

Good boy! *** Pats head ***

It's not too late to make it Dead Horse/Key West/Dead Horse! :clapping:Just kidding...have a great run.

May the roads be clear of animals and traffic, and may the officers always be friendly and chasing someone else.

Noticed the year of the bike has not changed yet. :)

You have my number, use it if you need anything on my side of the States.
The only choice for me was which 05 I was gonna take: the fjr or the Dakar

I changed my mind a while back- The FJR will be my ride. I parked her a while

ago and let her sit so she should flip 100K near the Artic circle. She is sitting

with 94K now.

You KNOW the gen 1 "05 is the only FJR in the Garage. I'll be a gen 1 rider till

hell freezes over or our gen1 leader SkooterG betrays his beloved 04(s) with a

POS gen 2- and you KNOW neither is likely to happen... EVER.

Craig- When you posted your ride plans I thought seriously about heading west with you, then peeling

off and heading north on your turn. But I couldn't move the time frame for my start. We will ride some

roads together. I am steering clear of the home state (Iowa) on the way up. The shortest route takes me

right through Waterloo/ Cedar Falls (My hometown) and you know what riding close to family locations

combined with the cold do to my will power. :p

Have a great ride!

As for me I fear the cold much more than the miles :angry2:

It is in the 30s now, but I am sure it will make the 80s within the week. Right?

The road closures look long term.

I am going to head west today for some scenery.

Really hate to loose the UCCC

I will hopefully know more tomorrow

Thinking maybe ride a 10/10ths
Glad your on top of this Tony. I was reading that the flooding up there isn't going away anytime soon and was going to reply to this thread.

Salvage what you can.

Edit: Damn early morning typos
