I can't believe Andy gave up his K-bike.

It looks like you guys are in for some serious adventure this year. Dog sitting is what semi-grown children are for while mommy and daddy go play. Think of all the extra things Andy could carry on the grande-GS: a couple of extra bottles of your favorite vin and who cares about anything else.

Yes. The K-Bike is all gone. Andy's elbows, or what's left of his elbows are no longer up for that kind of riding position for long. He needs a comfortable, sit up straight kind of bike. Of course, if he feels a need for supersonic speed, I can loan him a fast bike!

Love that idea about semi-grown children. We have one of those lying around (literally).

Congrats on that nice new bike. My bet is the big 'ol FJR will slowly acquire dust as the BMW becomes the go-to bike. Riding with GS's has shown me just how crazy-capable they are in the twisties. If nothing else, keep the FJR just to drain the blood from your head every now then. :D
The little bike sure is a lotta fun, and so 'me-sized'. But switching to the FJR.... WOW! It's like having all that power for the first time, all over again. Intoxicating.
Know what you mean. I ride the FJR typically a couple hours a day for commuting and then some weekend rides. It's just part of me.

But I've also got a 19 year-old KLR & the damn thing makes me absolutely chuckle, with it's twist-flex frame, the broccoli-stiff forks, and with the lawnmower sound... Seriously, it's great to have a runaround / errand / loaner second bike that costs nothing to own or run.

Welcome back, Penguini! Nice bike. Nice new do.
Thanks JB. Did some serious soul searching and even went through a period where I was ready to hang up the helmet. (i.e. not ride at all, rather than going over to the helmetless camp). Saw the light though, and celebrated it with a new bike.

Loved the little 650 so much that I thought for a moment that it might be the do-it-all bike for me but then I hopped onto the FJR. Two totally different experiences. Can't choose one or the other. Then I spent the weekend digging grooves in deep sand, climbing mountains, being overtaken by five year olds on 50cc bikes. Gotta love that itty bitty 125.

Go trailer! I'm working on that for my 'too big for the tank bag' girl!
I'm not up for an FJR trailer but the dog does recognize our Kendon trailer. It lives along the side of the house, folded when not in use. When the trailer comes out to have the dirt bikes loaded up, dog goes wild. He knows that he's going camping. Of course, it takes twice as long to load the bikes, with the help of the pup.

Nice bike Jill. Congrats!

I've been lucky so far. Here in Southern Nevada, there's lots of places for me to explore on my Funduro that are too far for the 50cc twerps to find me.
