Favorite? How do ya pic a favorite? Was it:
My trip to the Tail of the Dragon with my little sweetie Kathleen?
Or my trip to the hospital in February to be with my youngest daughter Kelly and meet my first granddaughter?
Or a few miles northeast of the Dragon to do some white water rafting? (Kathy's the red head up front, I'm the guy with the BIG smile)
But the best adventure for me? It would have to be that amazing trip I made out west this summer to begin my incredible journey from San Diego to Jacksonville, Fla in 48 1/2 hours. If you haven't read about that journey (that means you not one of the 5400+ who have) here it is: CLICKY. There were some funny moments, some heartbreaking ones, and 20,000 words to describe it all. But you will love the pics.
Below: not sure if this was sunrise over Texas or exactly where it was, but this one picture sums up not only the joy of that amazing trip, but the spirit of adventure that all of us enjoy when we finally break away from the schedule, the job, the responsibilities, the bills, and the rat race... to get out and discover God's great creation. This land of ours is worth seeing, and I hope this new year brings with it the challenge that some of you who don't get away from it all very often... WILL.
As a matter of fact, why not make it a New Year's resolution to do just that? Take a trip. A long trip. Anywhere. Save a couple bucks, schedule the time off, and, as the old saying goes, JUST DO IT.
