Screw the ******' tires Toe..

Take care of your woman and family.. and don't forget YOU.

Anything I can do to help? Call or PM.

Bob, I'm so sorry.

I remember you posting a question a couple of years back about doing a ride with a group, or riding to visit your father, and you chose to visit your father.

God Bless him, and you.

:(

And DC's right. Screw the tires.

Thank you all.

Yeah, ever since I got the bike, I've ridden up there on Father's day and taken him out to lunch. This year's Father's day is gonna be rather lonely. I guess I'll just stay home and let the family take me to lunch.

The tire thing should take care of itself, once they land at the vendor's shop, unless he's digging out his house or something. I'll PM RCL about stepping in while I'm away.

Sorry Bob to hear of the loss of your father, I know you will find peace and solice in that you had a great and strong relationship with your father.

Spoke to Jeff just now. No home damage, large tree fell against the shop, which they got cleaned up over the weekend. No 180's have arrived yet, but the rep is supposed to see him Thursday. If the tires haven't arrived before then, he'll get some answers form the rep. I've given him Rider Coach Lar's phone number, and he said he'd call as soon as he found out anything. I'm off to Reno, with my laptop, but not sure of access while I'm away. Thanks again, everybody, for the positive thoughts. See you on the flip side....

Sorry to learn of your loss Toe.

Don't worry about anything until YOU get yourself sorted.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just a quick update for the curious: Spoke to the vendor this morning. Still waiting on the 180's. The rep did not show up yesterday; he was hoping to see him today and if he did, he would give me a call. Nothing yet, but if I hear something, I'll update later.

Thanks for the update. It looks like the 180s are on back order everywhere, my tires are totally gone, so i've been calling around trying to buy a set somewhere else (and keep the GB set for future) to replace imidiately but am getting the same response: "on back order, expecting delivery towards the end of March".

Pls keep us posted.

UPDATE: Spoke to the vendor this afternoon. He's has been told by his Michelin rep that the tires should be delivered to him this week. Also, FYI, the vendor has two additional people "on call" for when the tires show up so he can get them processed and ready for UPS shipping immediately. He also has made arrangements for UPS to send an empty truck to pick up the tires once they're packaged and ready to ship so there will be no delays in shipping any of them to us.

In short, he has done everything he possibly can to ensure the quickest turnaround time once he recieves our tires, which MAY be as early as the end of this week. He will call me with an update when he hears from the trucking company that's delivering to him.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Larry,

Thanks for the update and for taking it on. After all this conversqation, I am looking forward to seeing at least 25 posts with pictures of these tires (both on and off the rims). If we are real lucky, maybe a picture of the tires before they are unwrapped.

Toe, sorry to here about your father but glad to hear that you put the effort into staying close. The way we live now days we let to many important things slip by.

I just want to say thanks for those who are looking out for us by setting up these deals! I bought early so these will go on before I head out to Golden for NAFO.

Well...its Saturday.

Has the shipping company confirmed that it's on route to him? Or is the shipping company gonna confirm when they pick it up from Michelin?

I wasn't in on this group buy, because I was in on one a couple weeks earlier (off an XX forum) with the same vendor. Our GB was smaller -- only about a dozen pairs. We got the last 180s that Jeff had in stock and I got 2 pairs. Toe and I corresponded about it as he was setting up this GB.

Here's what I can tell you about my experience with the vendor (I didn't run the GB), keeping in mind that for our GB, he had the tires in stock. (As most of us know, 180 PR2s have been out of stock for a LOT of suppliers in the last couple months.) Jeff was up front about the fact that he only had so many pairs in stock. (In this FJR GB, he was up front about the fact that he'd have to order them.) The guy running the XX GB limited it to only the number of pairs that Jeff had in stock. Jeff shipped both my pairs the day after he received my PayPal payment. I'm in Calif, so it took a little longer to receive them, but others on the east coast, TX, etc. were reporting receiving their tires within a couple days. Each pair of tires I received was boxed separately as a set, so I got two boxes, plus more Michelin decals than I would know what to do with. Some folks got free t-shirts thrown in for no apparent reason, as well.

My take on it was that this vendor is a stand up guy who did exactly as he said he would, as promptly as possible, and that was the uncontradicted experience of everybody who got in on that GB. I would definitely deal with Jeff again, without any concerns.

Here's hoping Michelin and their distribution chain can start getting 180s out to their retailers post haste so you guys will have your PR2s soon.
