Just booked the last tiny room at the Old Clark Inn. Andrea said it's a small room with a full bed and a shared bath. but at this late time of booking, we'll make it work. Trevor is unable to come, so it will be just Lisa and I. I did ask Andrea about the storm damage there and she said everything is fine. There were some road closures in the area, but the river and creek didn't go over its banks. We do have the option of staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Lewisburg an hour away, but I'm sure it would be more fun hanging out with the group.

Lisa will be riding her Honda CTX700DCT and is not the fastest of riders. If her pace is going to cause an issue riding with the big boys, we'll go on our own ride. No worries. She's not a slow rider, maybe a little above the speed limit, but she's not a high speed twisties rider either. In any case, it will be a blast sharing the weekend with everyone. See you all there!

Good to hear that Marlinton is OK. I hadn't called Andrea yet. I did speak with Creta Meadows(Spkldoe, Jim's wife) They live just west of Lewisburg. That area, especially east of Lewisburg, got hit pretty hard. White Sulphur Springs is flooded. Creta said there were a lot of road closures due to high water. It remains to be seen the full extent of the effects.

As for Lisa, not a problem We can tailor the ride to suit anyone. Right now it only looks like three bikes with two on the fence, so at the most five. We don't have to ride fast. Of course, a lunch stop at Pies and Pints in Fayetteville is in order. The question is the route to get there. Richwood is flooded. We can always take 219 to Lewisburg and then pick up the Midland Trail(Rt 60).

I'd be happy to hang with you and Lisa.

I don't mind a sane pace and enjoy the sightseeing

a more relaxed ride allows.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Awesome, sounds great! With you, Robert, Lisa, and I, we already have 4 bikes. Who are the others on the fence?
DOH! You are right. It is 4 bikes confirmed and two on the fence. (Duane and Scott)
I'm definitely out on this one; I'll be serving house/pet watching duties for my neighbor. As they're watching my dog while I'm away at NAFO, seemed like the right thing to do.

I just heard from Andrea. They still have their "economy" rooms on the third floor. Twin bed with a combination lock locker and shared bath. There is no air conditioning on the that floor, though. It is cheap, but if it is hot it could be uncomfortable.

I "think" last year I used an a/c unit in the room because there was no fan. Marlinton normally doesn't need air as long as you have air flow. I don't know whether Andrea has changed her policy... but if only 1 room was rented on the 3rd floor, you needed to go down to use the 2nd floor bathroom. Not much of a problem unless you're drinking beer b4 bed. I know I didn't care for that at all.

Jury duty canceled.
Hmmmmmm.........
So Duane, you goin?

We need a full fledged southren RR.
Seriously considering doing this, 2up, more relaxed pace, more sightseeing. Anybody going to New River Gorge? I'll have to find alt lodging. Mrs1911 isn't buying the B&B thing. She'll tent camp but a no AC, community restroom, B&B doesn't work. Explain women to me

The news is still showing stories about serious flooding?

My planned route up is 467 miles/11hrs per Basecamp. I had to use about 49 miles of slab

to whittle it down to under 12hrs. When you shipping out for PNW? Need a little warmup?

Oh BTW, a RR from me may not be considered "full fledged southren". I've only lived here since the 8th grade.

A trip to the Gorge is required. We do that and then Pies and Pints in Fayetteville for lunch.

As for the B&B, we will not stay there unless we can get one of the rooms with private bath. Other options is the Greenbriar or Marlinton Motor Inn.

Uh oh Wheatie. Whatcha gonna do without a bike for a few days?
Hey, after living up North with five month winters...I will have to have patience, but not the insane amount of patience formerly required on an annual basis.
Hope there are good roads to ride, devastating floods were unreal in WV, with loss of life.
