I've already got him on that track boys. Akrapovic are WAY too expensive - like $1800 freaking dollars! But he can get a set of Remus for the price of one of his OEM exhaust. I believe he is working on that.
Holy ****...I didn't know the Akrapovic exhaust cans were that much. I'd definitely go with the Remus. Sheesh!!

....The left muffler actually will not be manufactured until April, so I will have to return to Utah to get that installed.

I'm normally not one to bash a manufacturer (even the BMW and H-D sonsofbitches), but that is total ********. You spend twenty-some grand on a bike

and they tell you it'll be MONTHS before they can supply a replacement part? Love ya man, ......but F*CK BMW.

I have Good News and I have Bad News:

Good News: I have Remus Hexacone Exhausts on order, titanium with carbon end caps.

Bad News: Remus is completely sold out of the their exhausts for the K1600 series and I won't get them until February when they do another production run!

Good News: BMW will be delivering last 2 parts which are headlight assembly and coolant reservoir, other than mufflers, 2nd week of January to BMW of Salt Lake City.

Bad News: It is snowing it's *** off up in Utah right now and I will have to go up with my Jeep and M/C Trailer to bring Gisele home; I was hoping to ride her home!

No ****! When I first heard, I was like, why the hell Salt Lake City?!?!?!? El Dorko GRANDE!!!!
You dorks, BMW Roadside Assistance will tow it to one of the three closest BMW Dealers for FREE. Those were Sandy, UT; Salt Lake City, UT; or Grand Junction, CO. If I wanted it towed to Las Vegas I would have paid the entire $654 myself, you Grand Dorks!

327 miles from Torrey to Vegas at $2 a mile is $654 out of my pocket. SLC at 210 miles, GJ, CO at 205 miles and Sandy, Utah at 195 miles were all at no charge to me, my choice. The dealership is 1/2 mile from the SLC Airport! Skooty, you probably would have paid the $654!

No, no, no, screw what those morons want you to do. First, you tell them you want it towed to Vegas, (Las Vegas BMW is only a couple of miles from the airport, fwiw), then they say no and you say BS, I don't want those hacks at SLC BMW working on MY bike!

Or you could have a real tow plan instead of that crap from Moterrad. Jeeze, you could have just ridden it to Vegas, couldn't you?

First, I had a son with a damaged leg - possible hair line fracture according to SPU. Second, the bike was not rideable - you weren't there. Third, I did initially approach Motorrad with taking it to Las Vegas. And they said yes, if I wanted to pay $2 a mile for the 327 miles.

And lastly, the BMW Motorrad Tow provisions were much more generous than my AAA RV Policy - it did not cost me anything; I actually called AAA first, it would have cost me over $300 to get it to Las Vegas; they would have picked up the first 150 miles for free, but I would have paid the balance. What the hell does it matter to you anyway, Eric?

God Damn, nothing I hate more than Monday Morning Quarterbacks!!!

Ya did good Pappy. I would have done the same: and I was there. Now step away from the keyboard, have a pint or two and remember they aren't Irish, so we must give them the benefit of our superior patience in these matters.

While you plan your revenge :p ;)

LOL, Look at that red hand print on OCfjr's face!

You shouldn't rile up Pappy, especially after BMW won't build him a muffler for 6 freakin' months.

As much as I love the sound and build of that bike, I'm afraid one will never be in my garage. I will have to live vicariously through you, El Jeffe.

I'm glad it turned out as well as it did.

Don, I'm just poking fun at you because your bike is stuck in the snow. It's all in good fun, so hopefully you're over your little pissy moment now and back to your regular self.

Yes, it was a stressful situation and you did what you felt was best at the time. What you underestimated was how long it was going to take to get the bike through the repair process, but how could you have known?

In hindsight, that glorious benefit of seeing what actually happened, the extra cost of the AAA tow to LV would have likely been less than the cost you will end up paying to go retrieve the bike with the truck and trailer. I can't help but wonder what your cost would have been if you'd hopped on the FJR assistance list and CALLED ME so I could have come up to Torrey with the trailer and hauled you all to Las Vegas BMW, then taken you to the airport there? ****, I think you have my number in your phone already. You have friends, don't ya know?

Dude... allow me to remind you of Pappy's shame:

43 years of continuous BMW Ownership next March and this six cylinder is just so cool! I'm a total Beemer junkie and proud of it!
He was riding the FJR, I thought maybe he was doing better and we could wean him off the Blue Koolaid. Then he cancels his order for the Super Tenere and in a fit of New Bike Fever, the old fart can't hold his water and buys another BMW. 43 years! Not a person on this board can believe he's surprised that BMW can't be bothered to fix his bike in a timely manner or that they would tell him he won't have mufflers for months.

I was in Taos, I rode behind Pappy on his new toy. F me! Never has he ridden so slow! And Don, don't go attempting to say it was because you were ride leader. I remember CFR and you rode the FJR a hell of a lot faster than this new K bike. Yeah, you're surprised at how fast you're going, because you're practically riding in a car with all that plastic around you.

I won't say sell it, because you're like most of those Irish *******s, incapable of letting go and accepting the truth. Irish? WTF is that, they're just a bunch of Brits!!

;)

Aw ****...Now the Burrito Ballerina PaPa is gonna be really pissed. Eric, you better hope he takes his frustration out on one of his donkeys, else he may just ride up to your house and go Hulk on your ***.
