Brian had complained I'd not posted right hand photos of Gisele. Here's my beautiful BMW Sweetie!

I have always had an affinity for redheads.... kind of reminds me about my girl friend in high school - she had a 63 vdub, red hair, and was very limber..... (at least I remember it that way...)

And keep those pics of Giselle coming... did you notice she needs new jeans?

Damn nice bike, Senor Stanley !!!

It is a fine looking bike, Don.

I hope it rides as well as it looks.

By the way, that bike will make you even more handsome and virile....according to Barry.

I see the grip is still not fixed. WTF? I thought they said they had the parts and were going to fix it?
They lied Skooty, about a lot of things; I'll talk to you tomorrow about it, while we are getting our weekly mud bath treatments at the day spa!

this pix does more for me than the wallet grabbing chickadee...

I really like the engine/frame look but the bags? Not so much. Either way Don, I'll trade you straight across for my R69S, jes' sayin'....

Mi Hermano Donaldo, if you do ever decide to sell your classic BMW R69S: Por favor, talk to your Papa Chuy Viejo first! I still want a /2 series in my garage!

I agree with your assessment on the bags, they are the least appealing feature of the bike. These bags are similar to the R1200RT ones, which is the reason I owned a R1150RT instead.

Don't like the bags......

Hmm

I bet if they looked like George Michael's ball sack you like em eh?
George who?

What generation *are* you from?

Quite right...

I should have said Tony Orlando..

Dork..
Even though I am a Neanderthal Luddite and I hate electronic accessories on motorcycles, I do love the Sirius radio on Gisele! Mi Sobrino (my Nephew) Enrique "Henry" Garza programmed my bike to the Elvis Presley station and I really dig riding down the road listening to "The King"!

It is kind of weird at a traffic light, though. My bike is playing "Love Me Tender" by Elvis, and SkooterG has Boy George of Culture Club singing "Karma Chameleon"! Even though Skooty does love George Michael too.

Here you go, Hal! Gisele would look great in a 63 vdub or on my K1600GT. Gisele's so totally hot, our FJRBluesman would probably even give up young boys for Gisele!!

The K1600GT

The K1600GTL

BMW K 1600 GTL And K 1600 GT Clinch "Best Of" Honors For 2011 From Cycle World And Motorcyclist

In its debut year, the BMW K 1600 GTL and K 1600 GT have earned superlative awards from the U.S. media. In its July issue, Cycle World magazine named the K 1600 GTL the "Best Touring Bike of 2011" and the K 1600 GT the "Best Sport-Touring Bike of 2011." In the September issue of Motorcyclist, editors chose the BMW K 1600 GT as the "Best Touring Bike," while BMW's adaptive headlight technology - an option on the K 1600 GTL and GT tourers - earned "Best New Technology" kudos.

"It is a tremendous honor to receive this recognition from these well-respected publications," commented Pieter de Waal, Vice President, BMW Motorrad USA. "The positive response we've had from customers and journalists reaffirms our commitment to continually raising the bar for performance, safety, technology and value in this competitive market."

"It's one thing to win the game; it's something else altogether to change the rules. But that's what BMW's new K 1600 GTL has done to the world of two-wheel touring," wrote editors of Cycle World. Of the K 1600 GT, they commented, "The Bavarian Motor Works last earned the honor of Best Sport-Touring Bike in 2006-07 with its K 1200 GT and stepped up in a big way this year with its all-new K 1600 GT."

Motorcyclist editors offered similar praise for the K 1600 GT, stating, "The company that invented Grand Touring reinvents the Grand Tourer...The K 1600 GT feels more like a BMW K 1300 S than your average long-distance luxury recliner, with handling that melts off 250 lbs. and acceleration nothing in the class can match...unless somebody comes up with a better way to repeal some heavy-weight physical laws - gravity, for starters - BMW's class-busting inline has what it takes to lock it up for the next decade. Or two."

Both the BMW K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL have set new benchmarks for grand touring motorcycles by offering the world's most advanced technology available on two wheels. These innovations include:

The world's lightest and most compact six-cylinder engine on a production motorcycle. At 226 lbs (including clutch, gearbox and alternator) and less than 22 inches wide, the six-cylinder engine in the K 1600 models is comparable in size to four-cylinder power plants.

The world's first Xenon adaptive headlight on a motorcycle. Innovative electronics automatically compensate for the lean angle around corners and ensure the beam of the headlight is always directed at the road ahead.

Motorcyclist editors praised BMW's adaptive headlight technology, saying "On a twisty road in the dark of night, BMW's adaptive headlight lets you see further and be seen sooner. For motorcyclists accustomed to literally riding in the dark when riding in the dark, this is a very good thing."

The world's most advanced audio and communications system on a motorcycle. Bluetooth for wireless communication, Sirius satellite radio with a complimentary 12- month subscription, integration for iPod, USB stick and auxiliary input, AM/FM tuner, pre-wired for Navigator 4.

A multi-controller on the left-hand grip, which allows riders to operate the motorcycle's systems and adjust its settings without taking their hands off the bars.

Sorry papa, B..F..D.. All the cycle rags LOVE to heap all kinds of praise on whatever the so-called latest and greatest newly introduced bike is. This coming from guys who don't actually ride them that much or live with them for a while.

The things I have been reading from actual owners seem to indicate there are still quite a few 'bugs' either BMW or the aftermarket is going to have to work through. But hey, you only pay $28,000+ for this motorsickle, you can't expect it to be perfect can you?

I would NEVER buy a first year model from BMW. Their track record with seamless implentation of the latest, greatest technology is not so great.

Sorry to rain on your parade. Just hope you don't experience too many problems with yours.

Well El Pendejo Grande, I just spoke to your Cousin Enrique ten minutes ago and after 4K miles he has not had a single problem; and he put that 4K on in a month!!!

Yeah, whatever. He rides like a girl. Has he finally taken it out of 'rain mode' yet?

I think Motorcyclist got it right, after riding both, the K1600GT would be my choice for Best Touring Bike of 2011. I don't know how Cycle World could pick the K1600GT as the Best Sport-Touring Bike when it doesn't even belong in that class, unless Sport-Touring is now limited to smooth straight roads...where the K1600GT is in its element.
