Sorry papa, B..F..D.. All the cycle rags LOVE to heap all kinds of praise on whatever the so-called latest and greatest newly introduced bike is. This coming from guys who don't actually ride them that much or live with them for a while.

The things I have been reading from actual owners seem to indicate there are still quite a few 'bugs' either BMW or the aftermarket is going to have to work through. But hey, you only pay $28,000+ for this motorsickle, you can't expect it to be perfect can you?

I would NEVER buy a first year model from BMW. Their track record with seamless implentation of the latest, greatest technology is not so great.

Sorry to rain on your parade. Just hope you don't experience too many problems with yours.
Well El Pendejo Grande, I just spoke to your Cousin Enrique ten minutes ago and after 4K miles he has not had a single problem; and he put that 4K on in a month!!!
Yeah, whatever. He rides like a girl. Has he finally taken it out of 'rain mode' yet?
Ask him yourself Puto Perro, he'll be with us at Street Strategies and Brunch tomorrow!

Awesome bike Don ! About time someone else made a run at top touring bike. Goldwing has been there a long time & finally a bike that can be compared with it for maximum touring fun. Hope it turns out to be as reliable as the earlier BMWs were. Many miles of smiles ahead !

Was just over at the forum and reading alot of the same... Aside from all the glitches they are working through - they all seem to love the ride and power.

I really like the idea of this bike, hopefully it will age gracefully and BMW will be able to work through all the growing pains down the line...

So far, so good at AZ Beemers; the Arizona BMW MOA Club. We have 3 K16 platforms in our club: Enrique has the K1600GT pictured below, KenE has a K1600GTL and Papa Chuy has a K1600GT. Enrique is now at 4K miles, KenE is at 5K miles and Papa Chuy hit 1K miles this morning. 10K collective miles and not a single visit to the shop for any of us for any warranty issues. We'll keep you informed if anything develops or come to SW-FOG on September 9 and I will let you ride 'Gisele' for 20+ miles.

Warpdrv, you have to remember this about SkooterG and his Cousin Enrique; Enrique es mi Sobrino (my Nephew)! SkootyG's terribly jealous of 'Henry"! Enrique has a smoking hot woman, job as a Mesa City Firefighter and a hot bike. "GM" Cop Jealousy!

Here are Enrique (Henry) and wife Dawn sitting on KenE's silver K1600GTL. Dawn is an absolute fox, a petite little French-Canadian Mademoiselle and cute as a button. Skoot whacks it to Victoria Secret ads!

Thats great to hear buddy... How does it handle on the twisties...?

Curious on the ride quality - I have lower back issues and have a hard time riding really long distances... I'm not looking for squishy, but the FJR is really planted and firm as all know even with my Wilburs suspension... But its such a sporty machine I have a hard time thinking about not having her around.

Also curious what the out the door price was for you....? Did you buy the extended warranty as well...?

Haven't made it to the BMW dealer yet, looks like its much larger then the FJR.... If the dealer even has one, and its already sold, he won't even allow anyone to sit on it...

Because it is...the thing is a barge compared to the FJR!

Don,

Does Skooty know you have a camera in his bedroom? Or do you two share a bed?

Jes sayin' and enuf said! :clapping:
Now Herr Wheatie, you know as well as anyone about our Fine FJR Forum Motto and Mantra: DON'T ASK AND DON'T TELL!

Keep the buzz on the downlow about that camera, OK! He sleeps in his own bedroom, but sometime he sneaks in with DAD!

phroenips, I will show you my 'barge' at SW-FOG in four weeks.

I am NM Ride Leader again, get used to that taillight view, Amigo!

Warpdrv, if you're ever in Phoenix, contact me at either [email protected] or 480-440-4666.

I am a Retired Pipefitter, so I know all about bad backs. You are welcome to test ride my Gisele!

I rode the Tortilla Flats Road this AM, local Racer Road, every bit as agile as my FJR is, VERDAD!

Considering you don't use 70% of the FJR's capabilities, I am sure the barge did just fine!
Point Well Taken, Mi Hijo *******o!

Here is a video of BMW Motorrad Factory Racer Nate Kern riding a K1600GTL on the Knockhill Race Track Circuit in Scotland!

Gotta love all the grindage with that big tank on the track...
What is the wildest thing of all, is this: He rode the racetrack with all of the bags still on the GTL! I have seen the Factory still pictures of Nate and the GTL, he never even bothered to strip off the saddlebags or the top case. Hell, he should have been playing the Sirius Stereo to really piss off the guys that he was passing!

Why is it so wild that he rode with the bags on? It's a touring bike. Of course he would ride it with the bags on you twit.

I think that whole video was staged, the other riders on the track were barely leaning their bikes around the corners and when you could see the speedometer on the BMW he was never going that fast, maybe 80 mph on the straights, much slower in the corners.

Oh Come Now, MCRIDER007! Der Germans as Masters of Propaganda?? Mein Gott Im Himmel! Herr Goebbels und Herr Himmler would be so disappointed!

Next you thing you know, you'll start believing der Wehrmacht Panzers will start the Invasion of der Sudetenland! Wait a minute, they did that too didn't they!

Big bikes with bags can still fly...it depends on the rider...like say maybe YellowWolf

...or Fairlaner

...I took this off Wheaties Cam, hope he doesn't mind me posting it.

So if the big Wing can move, I bet the 1600 will move just as fast as a rider wants, if the rider has the skill to put it through it's paces...

Sr. Chuy received a Private Message complaint from Kaitsdad I was slacking off on posting up pictures of the real Gisele. Sorry about that Hal, I'll try better! Here you go:
