Sorry, won't make it.

I didn't respond previously because I've been working with the U Dub Medical Center to check my valve clearances. They told me yesterday that they're recommending I have them change out the exhaust valves on both cylinders (aortic and pulmonary) and an exhaust header on one (aorta). Pretty much a full rebuild.

They'll split my case/chest April 13 and I won't be on the road for six weeks or so after that.

Gonna need the synthetic oil/coumadin to protect the new valves, so I'll be planning a gentle break-in this summer.

All in all, I'd rather be at the Tech Meet.
Sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery. Your use of the engine analogy makes it sound like you have a good attitude about the whole thing (or at least as good as can be considering). I'll pray for a quick recovery and return to riding.

Hey, Top... Been there, done that. Send me a PM if you want to speak to someone that has been there and back... Ten years ago.

Looks like my FJR needs fresh oil in the front forks. A new front tire too. Auburn, would that be do-able on the 30th?
Forks might be a little tough, front tire no problem
Forks aren't a big deal L&S. We're more than halfway there with a front tire change. Bring three pints of your favorite suspension fluid or visit EPS and pick up SS7 three of these with a quart of ATF to flush with. We'll have them done toot-sweet!

Thanks! I thought it would be better to get it all done at once since the front tire will be off, and I don't believe the original owner changed the fork oil (only had about 5k miles on it at that point).

I haven't had the front tire off yet, so I haven't had a chance to inspect the bearings. Good idea to get a set of those, just in case? I can't really tell if they're going while under way, since the front PR2 is scalloped so badly it rumbles anyway.

Wouldn't worry about the front sealed bearings. I don't recall anyone ever changing them...expect maybe skooter on the DOW. I'll bet that rotten CT ruined your PR2... ;)

George, George, George. <_<

If it doesn't quit snowing in the mountains, I may be the only participant that can cross the passes. M/S rated you know.

I plan on attending. Hope to perform my first Throttle Body Syncing (TBS) with the carbtune II gizmo my brother got me for christmas. Also will try to get some insight on how to cleanup my wiring, it's quite a mess of tangled wires under my seat to power all my farkles.

First time attending this meet and looking forward to it.

BTW AuburnFJR, way to throw egg on my...you put me down as speedy"egg" vs speedygg.

But...speedyegg sounds like it has much more potential for an amazing story!

Seriously thinking of investing in Murph's CCS100 Cruise Control kit, a bit nervous about the install. I realize it is too big a task to do at the Tech Meet, however I am hoping someone will be there that has done it before to give some pointers for a future install. I've seen the install instructions on the forum and it don't look too bad. However I am sure there are some gotchas.

Maybe a Cruise Control install meet sometime in the future if there is enough interest?

I beleive Marcus has it. I have a McCruise system. If nothing else you can see a couple of different versions.

I've got one on my 07 and will be there. We can pull panels/tank and check it out.

Good to see you last Saturday Pablo.

We'll have plenty of Carbtunes to get the TBS done. My pleasure to give you a hand with it. We will also be installing some PAIR block off plates on a GEN II for folks to see.
