Yo Maj - you are quoting comments from the peanut gallery that mean absolutely nothing. And I'm sorry, that article 'illustrates' a lot more than forum debates and the info from a Honda engineer who develops motorcycle ABS systems has a lot of 'merit' for me.

Then you haven't looked at the big picture if the quotes mean nothing to you since the entire thread is nothing more than a topic in it's own forum and not an actual article from a magazine or peer reviewed publication as it was presented here initially. Add to that, there are no internal links to verify the validity of the initial quote (or topic starter).

No need to apologize. The advertisements for "Sea Monkeys" and "X-Ray Goggs" that were in the comic books I so much enjoyed as a kid fetched enough money from people that blindly believed everything they read to help keep the price of those comic books down so that I could stretch my allowance dollar further.

As I originally stated, I have not ever tried ABS in a turn and was inquiring if anyone actually has so that I could hear it from 'the horse's mouth' so to speak. Theory, conjecture and speculation is never sufficient to draw conclusions when there are so many differing points of view.

This debate has turned into an argument since so no new valid information is being presented and is thus becoming a waste of time.

If those of you that think the ABS will work just fine while leaned hard in a turn will just test it, we can bring this to a conclusion.

I say you come to Albuquerque. We'll ride to the crest road, and we'll pick a nice sharp turn. I'll set up with my video camera and you come into the turn just a little too hot...Not even way too hot. Anyways, we'll see what happens.

If your front locks up enough to cause you to eat shit, we'll have a great video for YouTube and AFV. If you actually stay upright and survive the attempt, you can tell all the nay-sayers to suck a fat one.

Oh dear, was that a crack at moi because I am a Conservation Officer? Well, this is true, it's not as high paying as some jobs, but in Canada it is above average and very secure with a Cadillac for a pension. I've only been doing it 4 years now too. I decided I wanted a job that took me out of the office and into the field and on various platforms such as ATVs, airplanes, helicopters, motorcycles, 20' jet boats to 150' Coast Guard ships and snowmobiles. After a career as a commercial pilot, a machine shop design engineer, a tour in the military and a successful business owner, I can afford the cut in pay.
