One of my fellow police officers had a bad motorcycle accident yesterday and is banged up pretty bad. He was riding dirt bikes with his family and lost control of his bike hitting the ground hard. He has broke his collar bone in three places, collapsed one of his lungs and broke six ribs. He is currently in ICU with a chest tube inserted and on a morphine drip. Please keep cameron in your prayers. He is a really good person and friend.
Ouch! That sounds very painful. I've taken care of patients with stuff like that going on, and they are hurting until they get the good drugs on board. Hoping that Cameron feels better real soon. Don't you be making him laugh for a while though. That will hurt!

Hey Cameron! Get Well Soon Dude! ...& gunny MM2's comments, slept in a recliner for several months after my bypass surgery, it was the only way to go. Coughing won't be fun, even a big belly-laugh can hurt, and wait 'til the 1st big sneeze sneaks-up on you before you can stifle it, it'll make you CUSS! But hang in there, it'll get better!

It's to late I have already made him laugh and he cussed me when he quit. Thanks for your concern he has already shown some improvement in such a short time. They are telling him 6 to 8 weeks before he can think about coming back to work.

That sounds about right. IIRC, it was 3 months for me, but I do very physical work and there is no "light duty" for me.

Remember the "trick" I posted about hugging a pillow to support the ribs...for laughing as well as sneezing or coughing.

And keeping a mental list and planning the revenge on those who make us laugh helps pass the time.....

Good wishes and prayers from here too. BTDT - though not so severely. Ribs take lots of time to get well - must be patient!

That's a good trick. It really helps.

But, oh man, when my ribs were busted, I sooooooo hated to feel a sneeze come on. Even if you have a pillow, you know it's gonna suck.

More good thoughts to Cameron. Glad to hear he's feeling better. I hope he takes his time.
