Bought for use whilst riding my beloved FJR.

When loading CD's on via the computer, about half of them are not recognised and inevitably get categorized as 'unknown artist'.

I assume my computer is not reading something somewhere. Is there a way I can fix this or alternatively re-name the tracks and artists.

They are not pirate CD's by the way.

Try under Advanced, Get CD Track names. My new Janet Jackson disc just did this to me on Tuesday and this fixed it. It pings the net quick to find the titles.

I've had that problem with mine too. It seems some of the software in iTunes won't recognize the song tracks on some CD's. What I've done is let it load onto the computer then Right click on the first track. On the pop-up click on get info. That should bring up a window with 6 tabs on it. Click on Info and you can edit the names of the artist, the album and songs for each track. If you go in to the main edit function (next to file at the top of iTunes) you can edit your preferences. There are some good things to know in that section. Some place in there is a menu to not download the entire CD when you load into the tray. You can opt to select only the songs on the CD you want to download to the computer. There is also a tab that allows you to boost the playback volume so you don't have to thave the iPod cranked up as much as well as adjusting the shuffle to be more or less likely.

HTH,

Ray

That fixed it thanks. Wonder why it doesn't do that automatically?

Lots of interesting bits there Bandit, thanks also.

Also, you may want to use the "Sound Check" feature (Edit-->Preferences-->Playback tab). This adjusts the playback volume of the songs to the same level. This is good if you have a wide variety of music.

Let's say you put your ipod on shuffle. Some jazz comes on, like Diana Krall. You turn up the volume a bit so you can hear it better, then all of a sudden, your ears explode because the next song is by some Swedish death metal band like Opeth and it starts out loud and heavy.

The iJet remote is good to have too.

Just where Germany said. The second slider down is called sound enhancer. Thats will boost the volume. Near the bottom is the slider to adjust the shuffle of the songs you have.

One of the things I did was to create a playlist (I called mine Roadtunes) to put together about 300 songs to listen to while riding. That way I can have every selected song on all my CD's loaded onto my iPod but I can select Roadtunes to listen to my favorites.

One thing I did was to install a cigarette lighter outlet under my seat and got a car charger for my iPod. That way I can plug in the iPod to the bikes electrical system and get where I'm going and still have a fully charged unit. I did notice that with my iPod in the map pocket of my tank bag, the controls for volume, pause, and fast forward are somewhat hard to use with gloves on. For that reason, I'm also going to look at getting an iJet for the remote control function.
