Go to your dealer and order Yamaha part #5JW-TURBO-00-00.
At $895 for the part and usually about 2 hours dealer time to install it..you will be amazed at the performance increase. Just be careful as it's extremely easy to go from wheelie popping to handlebars touching the pavement behind the bike. Non-dyno estimates put that change at 40 bhp added.

Don't let them tell you it doesn't exist....they know all about it, but are reluctant to sell it as they can't mark it up as much as they'd like because of an agreement with Mama Yama. An extra 40 horse for about a grand is cheap power. :yahoo:
Just got back from my dealer and he and the mechanics say they will take all of them you can get at that price as a turbo alone costs more than that. However, they could not find a part number using yours as a sparting point so guess the earlier kit has been dicontinued.

Likely story. They know about that part number, but they just want to upsell you to an aftermarket turbo.....those lying stealers. Don't let them fool you. If they won't order it for you ask any Canadian dealer.

Check Bramfrank's avatar, I would have to work real hard to get the front wheel that high on my bike. The problem seems to be mass, in his avatar he appears to be thin, I am not...

Here's your solution:

Anyone else out there have trouble getting the front wheel off the ground? Maybe I am still a little tentative but the "roll on wheelie" technique doesn't seem to work on my 07.PLEASE no lectures just answers.
Well this is just my opinion -my '05 would lift the front wheel just cranking on from a roll in first gear-not much but you definitely had no steering for a while. My '07 won't lift the front wheel (unless you pop the clutch coming off the line). My theory is that Yamaha increased the gear ratio about 7% with gen II for lower rpm at cruise taking away a little of the "yank" in the lower gears. Still have all the giddy-up I need but the '05 was a little higher on the holy s**t scale.

Shit. I wish it were Friday... <_<
Screw it it! It's an extended weekend :yahoo:

I'd say a limp right wrist and an ineffectual mangina are the definite causes.

Thats just me, the self proclaimed Master of Understatement

I've only ridden the '05 and the '07 FJRs, and the '05 definitely wheelies easier that my '07. I'm not sure if the '05 was any faster, but the front wheel felt lighter through 1st and 2nd gears. I have gotten the front wheel off the ground on my '07 a couple of times, accidentally (sort of) .

easiest way to get the front end up is to put the bike on the centerstand, then put some weight on the rear of the bike.

works everytime :D

Are any of you taking into account 2 major changes for the NewGen models?

1.) Different gear ratio

2.) Swingarm is 10mm longer

Still....with the HP and Torque numbers.....

If wheel stands were so important, why didn't you just buy an R1 or GSXR 1000?

I'm thinking that if you're intent on lifting the front wheel that bad, negating the gearing and the extended swingarm modifications would only require moving your butt about 2 inches further back on the seat.

The wheelbase on the '06 and up are slightly longer - that keeps the front wheel down.

Folks, maybe caveman got it up too high. He hasn't been seen since Oct 3 according to his profile.
Mighta been somethin' we said. We sorta ignored his request:

I lost track of kick-downs the other day downshifting, had revs for first and was actually in second, bike pulled a bit more than I expected, when I rolled off I felt the front end land. Didn't even realize I'd popped it!
