I would offer up my mad mechanical skillz, but if I were to work on something like this, there would be a lot of mystery parts left over and it would look like something that Homer Simpson worked on.

So I tossed fitty bucks into the pot.

Rock on.

Sounds like you fix some things just like Bust. He's been known to repair things and when finished, tell ya "Those are extra parts, ya don't need em'."

:)

Do we have a total so far? or a list of contributors? :)

If we can get that I'd be willing to make up a "sign" that Howie can print out and keep, perhaps the "Help an ol durty basterd out" sign :)

As of 7:00 PM tonight the PayPal balance is $907.21.

Sorry, seems to me that your math is off.... I'm in for $50, couldn't think of a better cause !!!!! Go RadioHowie... Lets get that Skoot of yours running again buddy.. !!! :D

New total is $957.21....

Maybe SkooterG can edit his first post to add your PayPal addy for ease of location of PayPal money transfer....

List? We don't need no stinkin' list. Each of us knows, and Joe can provide RH with a list of contributors if they want one. SkooterG may be a tad busy to actually contribute his funds and do any editing. I hear he went for a little ride. Should be done around Sept. 4th, though it hasn't officially started yet. He's at the mercy of hotel WiFi or borrowed laptops right now I think.

I'm a cheap/poor bastage, but this forum has been worth at least $25 worth of entertainment and info, so I hope I get my moneys worth  .

PayPal kept 3.5% of your contribution so you actually bumped the balance to $955.46. We have since exceeded that. I'll post another update tonight.

The lesson here is pay attention to the fees everyone.

For those on the fence, in particular those with Gen I machines, keep in mind that Howies travails concerning his tensioner pretty much put the last nail in the coffin (for me anyway) in that it absolutely confirmed that it should be replaced about every 50k for the best insurance. His grenaded motor died for our sins, the story has probably saved quite a few from a similar fate. I know that though Frank's tensioner seemed fine, a rattle noise at idle went away with it's replacement-at 54K-that could have gone catastrophic at any time. He saved me a lot of heartache and dough, and I'm sure I'm not alone. So cough it up ya cheap *****, or I'll plaster tubgirl and fatties galore in every thread till ya puke. Happy Friday!

I wasn't suggesting a list that be posted, I was saying a list so we can make up a certificate to give to RH.

Something like an award for "I was an ol durty basterd and even so my friends fixed my bike" LOL :)

Ps, thank you for that previous image, I now need to go claw my eyeballs out....

radman: Do you have the names and phone numbers of these gals? johnny80s and I are forming a "Los Robustos" wing to our FJR Forum and these fine ladies look like great "prospects" for the Ladies Auxiliary branch to "Los Robustos M/C!" Chuy

I'm in for $25. It can't be good to have to stare at a broke down bike knowing you're not going to be able to ride for some time. It would be extremely depressing for me. Let's help get it going again.

I used paypal as a services purchase and transferred the money from my bank account, How exactly are you supposed to avoid the fee?

I hate PayPal, they seriously suck... Just don't trust them and their sketchy business practices...
