If anyone wants to join me, here's my plan:

9/5 Leave Albany, NY to Front Royal, VA

9/6 Depart Front Royal via Skyline drive/Blue Ridge Parkway to Boone NC

9/7 Ride BRP to end and loop back to Boone via Deals Gap.

9/8 Depart Boone, NC to clarksville, TN via Nashville.

9/9 Depart Clarksville, TN to St. Louis, MO

9/10 - 9/11 Head Home to Albany, NY

Shoot me an e-mail if interested.

You may want to reconsider taking the Skyline Dr route unless you are looking to go painfully slow & smell the flowers. The speed limit is 35, this is federal land & if caught speeding the fines can be extremely heavy.... like $500.00 heavy. Some friends that just went thru there got a warning from a ranger that was claiming to be protecting the park's bear & deer population. The scenery is breathtaking, though. It is lovely.

If you don't want to smell the flowers then I'd suggest taking a different route.

The Blue Ridge Pkwy is a little better as far as speed is concerned. Speed limits are a huge 45 MPH. The BRP is also federal land. You get caught speeding the performance award fines can be heavy. The scenery is great, also.

Whichever way that you go, ride safe & see you in Boone.
