Gone too soon, the finest example of a friend to all who knew him. Thoughts and prayers for Donna and Seth.

Wow, just wow. speechless.

Just got a call from AJ, such sad news. :-(

We rode with Don at several SWFOG's. He did some recon effort for me in Phoenix when I bought a 1972 Bavaria there, he drove all the way across town for me to check to see if the guy was legit. Didn't even hesitate to help out. Just about the most optimistic guy I've ever met. Just look at how he's always grinning in the pictures on this thread. Always a kind word. He will be missed.....

He is a man that I began to recognize by forum name more and more throughout the time I became more active here. Through his typing- I could almost imagine a guy with a big smile on his face sitting at the computer typing away and laughing. Then when he made a visit to WV for EOM- I recognized him from across the parking lot. Of course- a big smile on his face and a drink in his hand.

I made the mistake by not formally introducing myself to him that weekend.

"I'll just have to do it at another shindig."

And now that is not possible.... Speechless.

Rest in Peace Don. Thoughts to his family and friends.

I had some last minute package deliveries to friends to make this morning. I made this a ride for Don. Considering the gifts were bottles of wine I figured he would approve.

He will be missed. He did leave us all a gift. At this time the gift hurts. In time there will be reminders - posts, foods, beverages, events. Each time they will bring a smile to someones life - maybe a small tear will come with that smile. That memory is the gift. Thank you for the memory.

Seth and Donna you are in my thoughts and prayers - so sorry for your loss.

Just read some of my old messages exchanged with Don, one of which he invited us to join him in Mexico in October for his 65th birthday bash. That was in 2013. He left us way too early......

Never thought I would run out of "likes" in a RIP thread but reading everyone's reply is very heart warming.

I met Don the first time at Toas in 2010 and like many here I expected this larger than life flamboyant person who is a maniac with a computer. Man was I wrong, he was just this nice mellow guy who just enjoyed life, his son, motorcycles and a keyboard. I always considered it a compliment when Don razed me about riding a Goldwing-real friends just do that with love.

Let's toast Don at every FJR gathering this year and post up the pictures, I'm sure he would approve.

I am going to miss that guy.

Speechless here !! This is unbelievable !!

R.I.P. Don .. condolences to all his family and friends.

Rog n Deb :-((
Roger,

Even though Don played fun with the Irish/English thing, he loved you guys, I'm not sure he considered you English...and loved to poke Fairlaner and mcatrophy...in a joshing friendly mcy buddy way.
Mark,

We know he loved all us guys - we all loved him and his humor. We were planning on comparing Spyders one day. That will have to wait a while :-((

I have not been active on the forum lately. Got a call from AJ about this sad news. I cannot write now as I am not able to see the key board. Loved you Don, my copper canyon roommate.
For you Joe.

I am at a loss for words. Rest in peace.

I'm glad he was doing things he liked and was having fun. He really knew how to live.

No doubt he was in heaven an hour before the devil knew he was gone.

Damn, I have reached my limit of likes for the day. You are correct Tyler, not only is he drinking with the Irish Devil, he is arranging the tables to accommodate us all!

Thank you Don Stanley, for everything you so generously gave to all who knew you (even those who never met you in person). You will never be replaced in our hearts and memories. All who knew you will ride a little further, find a little more adventure, help a fellow rider we don't know on their way, invite more people into our homes, laugh a little longer and louder, love the Irish a wee bit more, and generally enjoy the shit out of life a bit more because we were blessed to know you. Rest in peace my friend.

Ve con Dios, te vere en el bar 106

I don't know what we will do without posts entirely in Spanish and German!

Can someone PM me a real, street mailbox type address for Donna, we would really like to send a card. Thanks.

Gone too soon. I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to see Don more often - a couple of missed chances (an RTE last year where I forgot my wallet and couldn't cross a toll bridge, and the infamous Mexico trip when Don busted up his shoulder). But the times we did meet up (on Wheaties big trip was the first time) were memorable. Here's to you Don, and my departed VA-85 buddies:

I've gone through all the emotions today.

Still trying to wrap my head around that Don is gone.

Life is too short.

I'm having a hard time with this....
