I never heard of a get back whip (or getback whip) but it's what I figured it would be--and SO illegal in Cali, where so much is illegal--except lane splitting.

I looked it up, and found an entry by somebody who makes and sells them. Thought it was pretty funny. The site actually included the following language:

"If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, you may want to add some customization to your bike with a getback whip. In addition to adding style to your motorcycle, having a getback whip on your handlebar may help other motorists to see you better and avoid a traffic collision."

Ahhh, I get it now. It's a safety device!

^^^^I see those hanging from handlebars all the time. Had no idea that's what they're for. However, I don't know that I've ever seen a cue ball cradled in the end either.

^^^^Wonder how HD feels about their bar & shield logo and "official" colors?

Stupid acts on both accounts...too bad innocent drivers got involved with both knuckleheads.

You going to get one, Mike? Looks like a quick release from an equestrian's lead rope on the one end. As a teen, I had one open unexpectedly when a horse I was leading away from a fire reared. Normally, you slide that collar downward and the hinged loop opens up.

Imagine the badass fun you could have damaging new car finishes with that metal flail.

F'ing idiots that live among us!

Since they sued a granny for making sheild-logo hot pads back in the 90s, I would suspect they'd look unkindly on it.

puppychow posted: That whip will come in real handy as a torniquet, when the car you hit with it runs you over.
+1

(I'm outta likes for the day and -- I SWEAR -- I haven't liked anyone so far today.) Well, I mean I like you all, like, a lot, today, ... but haven't like, liked, a post today ... so how exactly does that happen ... ?
