IMHO, her "rant" is just an excuse not to admit that she "can't" ride the thing. Perhaps it's a bit big for her, since she "lowers" every bike she owns. Her misplaced anger could be directed much more effectively at trying to figure out what the real issue is....................HER !!!!!!!!!!!

If you look closely.............Garth is sucking the jelly out of the donuts :dribble:

The OP never asked for help, just started a 'bitchfest' (pun intended). I'll have to go along with Iggy's assessment; we're not losing much with this retreat of membership.

Where is krashdragon "Mary" when we need her?

She's owned several scoots an lowered hers.... an Liked it! Granted I believe it's gone now, but not because she couldn't ride it..

:jester:

C'mon BJ. You know your bike sucks.

All you'se *** wipes have sucky bikes.

You should definitely be able to lower the bike way down and completely change the steering angles and still expect to get premium handling in the twisties.

You butt heads...

Dagnabbit, I peed me money for this I should be able to take one wheel off, put a leather belt on her and have it handle like a motogp bike!!! LOL

I take strong exception to this post!!!!

And the reasons should be obvious....... spelling!

1) The is no apostrophe in the word "youse".... as in: "Youse guys ride a POS bike!"

2) "Butt-head" is hyphenated. Always.

3) Paradoxically, the word "*******" is one word, not two, and is never hyphenated.

C'mon, folks, let's focus on the important aspect of this dogpile.... proper grammar and spelling!

Oh ****. I'm so embarrassed.

Been a long time since we've had a proper dogpile. I'd say that it's weird that it is occurring on a Tuesday and with what I believe is the first female star, but then again, it is 9/15 and estimated tax payments are due today.

Fred, your spelling of such important D.P. terms is atrocious! You SHOULD be embarrassed!

She probably made adjustments that affects handling of her bike all at the same time in an effort to do it all as quick as possible. It gets frustrating especially when you are trying to keep up with your husband's FZ1. Now she's lost in the tangle of adjustments. Let's give her a hug already.

What has shaving your anus got to do with riding a bike? On second thoughts, perhaps I don't want to know.

Assuming that the OP is/was genuine and not trolling around to stir the pot, I actually have some empathy with her. I've had days when I've ridden home teary-eyed and frustrated, knowing that the beast was way too big for me. The frustration comes from knowing what a great bike it can be, for the right rider, and that I'm not that rider. I am 5'2" with a 26" inseam. My bike is lowered, to allow me a pointed toe down on each side.

I have chosen to ride on paved surfaces only and to avoid gravel like the plague. My bike needs to be very carefully parked, with a view to riding it out of the parking space. I'm not shy about asking for help. The slow speed stuff scares the bejeebers out of me, since my skills are not the best and the bike is so darn top heavy. OTOH, I've never had a problem with poor handling at speed, or with stalling. Pazzo levers have been helpful for my small hands.

Realizing that a lack of slow speed control is not the bike's fault, I'm trying to hone my skills on a smaller bike, then use those skills on the beast. Dare I admit here on the FJR forum that I'm actually enjoying the smaller bike? It has a 29" seat height, weighs 400lbs wet and carries it's weight down low. I'm quite happy about riding it on dirt, gravel, water crossings etc. Sure, it's no FJR on the freeway but perhaps us little people have to deal with that.

For now, I have no thought of parting with my FJR. Sure, it's too big for me but it doesn't suck. Then again, perhaps that's because I have the faster, '03.

There is sure fire way to get a dogpile around these parts - come in with both guns blazing. You missed the boat there, sorry no dogpile for you. ;)

Nope. No dogpile for me, because I refuse to believe that there is anything wrong with my FJR. I'm just the little, wannabe-FJR-rider, who has big thoughts about riding a big bike!

It is not a good idea to go nuclear because you can't shift or the idle is too low , the suspension was "adjusted" ( whatever that means more then one person has screwed it up by not having a clue what they where doing). Adding 30 lbs should not be an issue, we all have added that before, perhaps in one side bag? Dropping the bike shows it is too heavy if you can't hold it up. If she needed help ask, people will offer suggestions, and help if you ask. But to go off on everyone is not cool.

I think the pms reference was the final straw.

Agreed. I had fingers almost to the keyboard, ready to fire off a missive about that, but common sense kicked in before I got anything written.

When a woman is under the influence of PMS, the only correct answer is 'Yes, dear' or silence. Most of the married men on the forum already know this. Some will bear scars, gained during the period in which they learned this.
