I'm in the "Hands Down Cruise Control" department. I have the Audiovox with Skyway mount and love the reaction I get when folks read "Cruise Control" on the buttons. :) And I use it ALL the time, even on commutes to work (the ibke is a daily driver and weekend brawler). Seems I'm starting to have some arthritis set in the elbows / wrists and it helps a great deal.

A very close second would be the GP / Penske suspension upgrade.

My "Bananas blind side Spots". No need to ever turn your head to see what's beside you.

Bananas!

That looks pretty cool. Care to share more details, maybe in another thread?

For me, the most important aftermarket part for any bike is the seat. If the seat's not comfortable, it really kills my interest in the bike.

I Googled that, Fred, and found a post on the fjrowners forum from the guy who made them. It was two years old, so I don't know if he's still doing them. I emailed, hope to hear from him; I did tell him I wanted a set if still available. If he replies that they are (in fact, if he replies at all), I'll post about it again here. Think in '08 he was asking about $32 for them. They mount with a self-tapping screw into the bottom of your mirror.

For me, the best farkle so far has been the Heli triple clamp. It made my riding position much more comfortable. I am comtemplating adding the risers to make it 3/4 inch taller.

Having come from an SV650, the stock seat on the FJR feels like heaven. I haven't been on a long ride yet, so I don't know how my butt will hold up, but no complaints thus far with the stocks. I am thinking about sending my seat to Spencer to lower it a bit and to add some comfort foam.

My Breakway cruise control is O.K., not great.

I love the matching OEM touring truck.

With my freakishly long torso, the +4 OEM touring shield still isn't tall enough. It appears Laminar Lip is coming for my birthday, so we'll see how that works.

Sliders already saved me $$$ in a driveway tipover.

Tonight I installed the OEM mufflers I traded for my Muzzy's. I am enjoying the quiet sound. I know it's technically not a farkle, but it is to me since, I bought the bike with the Muzzy and didn't like the loud sound.

Hands down, it has to be the Cal-Sci windscreen. Although I have a long list of farkles that I now couldn't live without (see the link in my signature), a buffeting head would make me want to trade it after an hour in the saddle.

#1 Vista Cruise

Riding my new 05 back from SF I must have thumbed for it a hundred times. I don't think I could ride 100 miles without missing it.

For looks: Corbin Smuggler but who's looking as you ride?

Cramp buster

Throttlemeister

Heli-bar triple clamp

All of them are must haves. Next items on the list are a Russell day long seat and a better windshield.

+1 on the Cramp buster. Bike was in being investigated for an electrical problem. Dealer had thrown it in the top trunk so it would not get lost. Left without it on and had to pull over to get it out...dang that spring in the throttle is tough.

Not a farkle, but a 'free' fix for a stiff throttle.....search 'unwind throttle return spring' and do it (once) for ever-present wrist comfort.

My favorite farkle is the YAMAHA touring shield for more coverage. Throttlemeister for touring. Still looking for a better seat. ;)

The farkle that I rate as Numero Uno on Miss Lucy Liu, my 2003 FJR - un muy rapido ese, is the beer bottle opener I mounted on my Givi rack. Nothing more irritating than riding South down in Mexico and picking up a cold sixer of Bohemia, Superior or Carta Blanca cerveza in bottles; and then not being able to find your "church key" to open up those sweet beauties!

No doubt about it - electronic cruise control. McCruise on my '04 then AVCC on my '08. I use to run manual throttle locks but once having electronic, I could never go back.
