Not a farkle, but Ashe's suspension adjustments have made the most difference of any change to my bike. If you haven't considered, see this. clicky --I liked it before, but these changes result in dramatic handling/cornering improvements.
A close second is cruise control--all day comfort on long stretches.

Third is a AHAMAY touring screen with spacers. Works well for me.
I would agree that Ashe's suspension adjustment settings made the most improvement to my bike for the lowest cost but I would also have trouble calling it a farkle? I would vote for the foot peg pad that's available on this site as the best bang for the buck farkle available for the FJR! :yahoo:

After lots of thought on this - I'd have to say my custom seat. All other farkles considered, if you can't stay in the saddle, they don't mean anything. JMHO.

For me so far it has been a throttlemeister, but I have a stock seat. Let me tell you, my first 1000 mile day in 90+ degree heat told me that the second I but a day long, it will be the best farkle ever.

Custom seat followed by the throttle spring unwind and bar risers.

I can live without cruise control (hardly ever use it), bigger windshield, heated gear and GPS. I just don't like too.

1. Rick Mayer leather seat. Essential to swap out the stocker.

2. Aftermarket windshield. Love my CalSci

3. Vista-Cruise. Almost as important as the other two.

The best thing I ever added to my bike is my auxiliary fuel tank.

Rolling through towns in North Dakota and Montana in the middle of the night when all the little gas stations were closed is a satisfying feeling that's hard to explain.

I can hardly wait for May! Top Down Gold baby! I wonder what the record is...

#2 Would have to be the Audiovox cruise.

#3 Is the Russell seat which is weird because the other top two might not be possible without it. Still, I ride long distances to ride challenging twisties, and although the long ride is bearable on the Russell, I'm cursing it in the twisties, and never use it on alphabet road runs.

I just can't say that the best farkle ever is an expensive fart catcher.

You can't make me.

You can't make me.

edit: I googled "alphabet road runs" and ... nuthin'

Seriously! All you 'sconnies are too busy to put "Alphabet Road Run" in Wikipedia, or Urban Dictionary at least?

Seriously? Put the beer down and get on that!

I gave this thought. Although not strictly adhering to the farkle = functional piece of equipment definition. If I broaden the definition to "What makes my FIR more enjoyable to ride?" then I have an answer.

This Forum of miscreants have given great advice, a huge boat-load of functional information, a chance to meet other enthusiasts, riding ideas and safety information. This forum have me riding my FJR (almost) worry free to more distant points on the map than I otherwise would have traveled. Peace of mind knowing about the GEN II problems and their fixes alone make fjrforum the best farkle.

More like a top 6 of things I would do to every bike:

1) Crampbuster, just put this on a few weeks ago before riding back to Vegas from Phoenix, would have paid twice the price for how effective it is.

2) Top Trunk, I commute, and I have to have somewhere to carry my computer backpack, which is too big for the side cases

3) Ampli-rider amplifier with remote volume control, I always have tunes on whenever I am riding

4) Heated gloves, a must for year round riding in Vegas (yes it gets cold here!)

5) Alex's sticker kit, drivers here suck (and its the locals more than the tourists!), so anything I can do to be more visible is a definite plus in my book

6) Joe Rocket Manta tank bag, the top pocket is perfect for my iPod, its small enough that it doesn't get in the way, but big enough to hold everything I need it to

My Russell Day-Long Saddle. None of the other stuff matters is you can't spend the time with the wheels rolling long enough to put them to use.
