I just got off the phone with Ian. The light brackets are in and they arrived back this week. I am going to go down and help him mail them out on Saturday. I will post the status that evening and let everyone know how far along we got, and whether all orders were fulfilled. He says things are getting back on track and we should be ready for his desired customer service levels to return soon. He has been buried, too busy to visit the forum, and I let him know that I would address the forum for him until things get back to normal.
Please, many of you have been very patient, and I just ask for a little more while he digs out here.
OV,

Thanks for the update, hope one of the bracket sets you stuff this weekend are mine. If I wasn't up to my arm pits in my own 12/7 schedule, I'd be there to help also. Glad to hear things are getting back on track.

Hang in there Ian! :clapping:

I think some peeps around here need to take a deep fuking breath, followed by a chill pill. Lots of emotions running high right now that can manifest themselves in ways that do ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD FOR ANY OF THE PARTIES INVOLVED. And I mean BOTH SIDES.

Don't get me pissed off enough so that I follow through on the warning in my signature.

Over and out. Have a nice day.

Gravity sucks.

Everybody play nice. I don't want to have to go Skyway on your ***!

I don't understand. Are you going to help the penguins out with some ice or something? That sounds kinda neat. Please include pics.

Well, I have had a weekend from hell with a family issue that made me call Ian at 8am Saturday and flake on him, and all you guys too. However, I did review many issues that were brought to my attention through the forum with Ian.

1) He has the light brackets and he shipped them Saturday

2) He has the mounting brackets and tanks for those that don't have them and is shipping

3) He's pretty much getting caught up this weekend and will work this week to ensure that everyone has what they are looking for.

Thanks for the report, Andrew. I hope the family situation is resolved...there isn't anything I dislike more than angst and lack of peace on the "home front".

Thanks Mike, no angst and lack of peace, just an issue that had to be resolved immediately. All will be fine.

...note that Ian called me today to follow up with my order to see if there were any problems. I'd already talked with him earlier and said things were good, but he still called to confirm that nothing had changed. For those of you who need fixes to your order, take heed that he'll be in touch as he told me he was going to personally contact everyone who ordered to assure there were no problems and/or to correct any issues. He will make this right even though the issues with the lights were not of his doing. My .02 worth.
Ian called me as well on Saturday and we had a nice long talk. He will most likely be talking by phone with everyone who's placed an order in the Soltek group buy.

He is going to take care of everyone and make corrections for those that have received either wrong or partial shipments.

I consider Ian to be a friend and a %100 stand up guy. Sometimes you get blind sided by things outside of your control.

Thanks, Ian, for all your effort.

Ian and I also had a talk.

We worked out my "issues" and everything is hunky dory. A very nice and patient fellow who was eager to solve my problem.

Operator error is mostly to blame I admit but I would like to mention to others that my reservoir cap has the letters "DOT4" raised higher than the rest (clutch side), this was most of my problem because when tightening the screws down, If not done perfectly would **** the Radar plate and not sit level, binding the screws as well.

Sanding these letters down even with the others made for a flat mounting surface.

So all's well, and I'm sure Ian will solve whatever product related problem you have with him.

Thanks SKYWAY.

Hey, Ian is our personal farkle guru here at the home of the FJR Forum and artist at work. Now we all know an artist cannot be rushed so give the guy some slack will ya and all things will come full circle as to getting the parts ordered. Now Ian is also considered a friend by me as well and I want to say "THANKS" Ian for all your hard work for us mere mortals on the board and running an amazing one man show. Now back to your regular programing.....and Ian, GET TO WORK! Gez.....PM. <>< :clapping:

I went up and visited Mr. Skyway today. He was feverishly turning out bushings for Gen II Soltek brackets. They have to each be processed by hand, as the new months-old machine that's supposed to automate the process still isn't up and running yet, thanks to the "support network", one of which was working on the machine at the time. It's by no fault of Ian's that the parts have been delayed, but due to circumstances beyond his control.

Not to worry, because he's swearing off group buys, so we won't have to suffer through any more good deals from his direction. No good deed goes unpunished.

Aside from my Soltek brackets, I also picked up a sweet radar detector mount and a second hydration bag & base to use as a food grab. Then made a sweet run down Hwy 49 on the way home and scrubbed in the new BT021. Weather was great!

How do you know when you're really loved?????

70 posts in a week?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's touched a lot of folk around here. Imagine where all these farkles have been to....(look at my location).

In the end I think it's pretty cool.

Ian, We love you buddy.........I think about you every time I mount up and see my awesome sliders!!!

i *think* the light brackets are being shipped this weekend...

i got an email from usps that a package was sent from ian laing...

:yahoo: :yahoo:

I'd guess the packages include the light brackets and, for those of us who ordered rock guards, the "extra" that Baja didn't send. Ian called Baja and corrected their mistake at the expenditure of much of his company's time.
