I try not to think about it too much... maybe once a month is all I can take...

Okay so let's see here.........It has been about 9 months give or take since we have paid for this aux tank. Since then we have received little to no communication from Skyway about the delay. I have not received any reply from him via p.m. or email and no information other than "be patient" has come from his camp. Let's keep in mind that no message has come directly from Skyway himself all information has been second hand. I do not think I will ever see the kit for this group buy. I don't know if there was some critical design flaw but am sure there is more to the story than, "he is busy don't bother him". but I feel that there would and should be some sort of public explanation for the prolonged delay, and at this point this is prolonged, so don't even give me any crap for posting this. I would like to know if I need to cut my losses and shop for another mounting system for the tank that I have collecting dust in the corner of my garage. So what is the story Skyway?

dgrenon, I agree with you. If I had sent $500 to any other vendor and received nothing for 9 months and no reply I think my patience level would have been exceeded long ago. Whatever the problem, it would be nice to hear something. I joined into the group buy simply to help add quantity to the order as my plan at the time was to put it in "stock" for my 03 if I ever wanted it. I hasn't been a the top of my hit list of things to get riled up over to now. I can understand all the hardships we have heard about that affected Skyway but a communiction ( at the least) from the him would be comforting at this point.

I suspect many of the messagers' pleas "to be patient" would read "kill the *******s" if it was any other supplier....

That's the point that I was trying to make earlier. I (like everybody in the group buy) put out what I consider a hefty amount of money. And I think we are owed an explanation or information as to what is going to happen. If there has been troubles, as there sometimes is, just give us an explanation.

And if for some other reason it will not go through, I can accept that also. Just refund our money and let us go on or merry way. I am also understanding that sometimes things just don't happen like we intend.

My point, and this is for me, communication is what I want. I have a local fabricator that would be willing to make me one if I know this is not going to work out. I want to get it done by June of 08. I have a IBA ride I want to do and I would like to have my cell by then.

There is a telephone number listed on his website clicky here.
No offense, but I'm not calling him. Didn't you see all the other requests for him to return messages left on his machine, or reply to the P.M.s and emails. He's busy making "farkles". I don't think he is too busy not to check this thread from time to time though. I know that if I had just started an internet motorcycle retail site that depended so heavily on strong customer service and a good forum based clientele I think I would like my customers to know that I was on top of it. I'm done calling or emailing or P.m.ing or believing anyone saying they "heard it from a friend that, heard it from a friend, that everything will ship this Friday."

madmike, with all due respect, I'm under the impression that people have tried to call. But still get no response. I even took your advice above and called him myself this past week, thinking that I really haven't tried that. So I did, all I got was the answering machine and no call back. Explained why I was calling and just asked for a call back to get an update. I even said I wasn't upset but would just like an answer. I wasn't threating in the least.

And the only reason I'm bring this up now is the fact that here in this same section he is nice enough to give the guys that bought his lights an update on something that needs to be taken care of. Why not us? You said it well, this is the Group Buy From Hell.

I have bought other goodies from him and have liked the products I bought. And if I hadn't bought my phids on the last group buy, I would have bought these lights that he is selling. I am not knocking his products or what he has done for the FJR community. But My hands are in the air wondering what in the world is going on. I think another statement was well made a few post ago, I think it also has more to do than CNC programming.

I will admit, that losing 400+ dollars on a e-bay purchase that went bad a few years ago has gotten me a little edgy with prepaid products. When I put money out before hand on a product and see no results I do tend to worry a little. Thats why after 9+ months of promises after putting 600+ dollars out is making me wonder. Just saying this to let people now why I feel the way I do. I don't want to sound like a complainer. I am just looking for explanations so we can move forward with this. And to get it finished.

Sincerely and with Much Love  (I really do care about everybody here, I really do.)

I do believe that is a photo of TurboDave's FJR. And I also do believe that it was his FJR that was used to develop the prototype mounting for the GEN II FJRs. Note the incomplete look to the mounting.

That is correct. Turbo's AE was used as the design mule by Skyway.
There are mules and there are mules. I am thinking I have unwittingly become a financial mule for him. I sincerely hope my thinking is inaccurate but nevertheless this mule has been used by Skyway.

It’s been 8 months and 25 days since Skyway cashed my $570.00 check.

I have left several messages (e-mail & phone). Please call me on Monday. You have my number.
Have done the same. Wasn't a jerk about the way I asked either. Nothing.

At this stage I guess we just have to let it be. I still think we will get the goods. I would have a hard time believing that we will be left in the lurch as some have hinted. I got till May when I plan on doing my IBA run around Lake Superior so I'm not sweating it yet.

Buy my viewpoint of the way he does business has changed drastically. If I treated my customers with same level of communication as we have been treated, I would be unemployed. If I don't return my contractors calls when they have a question within some level of time frame, I would be walking. Not trying to be a smart-ass, just stating the facts.

Slightly off topic, but is Skyway shipping ANYTHING at this point? I was going to order some other items, hydration kit and XM antenna base, from him, but it sound like I would be wasting my time and money.

Don't know... I've been wanting to buy some Tpro armor inserts for my riding gear for a while, but have been waiting to see what is up... Not like I don't already have nearly $600 that may have gotten flushed.
