Mike, when's the last time you were in a Subway? They haven't cut bread like that for a LONG time! It's cut from the side now like a normal sandwich thanks to you and me and everyone else who bitched about it.

In Florida you have your pick of amazing Deli's to get good sandwiches from, but here in Dallas, it's all chains like Subway.

Oh yea, and if they put the meat back in the bin, I'd be complaining for certain! That's usually a lazy worker there who isn't thinking. I brought a bottle of water back to the concession stand at the movie theater that was nearly frozen solid. Even after I told the guy that I drank out of it he capped it off and put it back in the cooler. I had to point out to him how unsanitary that was and all of a sudden he was like "Oh yea, right..." and went and got it back out. I made damn sure my replacement bottle had been sealed!

Those disposable plastic gloves that are so popular now (not just at Subway, either) really crack me up. The guy makes your sandwich, takes your money, gives you your change, and goes back to the next customer, all wearing the same gloves! Gack!

... and the crew puts on new gloves with every sandwich they make.

New York Pizza And Deli (NYPD) in Euless is pretty good. Since Europa on Beach & Mid Cities closed, it's the closest to good NY pizza/deli. Europa was owned and run by a couple from Jersey.

Some chains are okay (Firehouse over on i-35w and Mid Cities). Some only have the advantage of always being depedably the same no matter which one you choose (Starbucks; the McDonalds of coffee. Not great but not awful either.). If you do some looking you can find some really good to great smaller places (4 Star Coffee Bar around University on Ft. Worth isn't as good as they were before the move but still beat Starbucks).

...and what's the big deal with putting the meat back in the tub? It went from the tub to the bread, back to the tub. Was the bread sourced from the dumpster? Did the server wipe his/her ass with it in the transition?

Disgusting? Do not EVER go back in the kitchen of your favorite restaurant that's not in plain sight. You'll never sleep again from the nightmares you'll have.

Or, you all could just "man up" and remember the **** you'd eat when you were young and broke!

Whaddabuncha ******* you guys are turning in to. SHAME!

Just went to the beginning of the thread. Sorry for contributing to the hijack. I'd used the "show new" and didn't see how it started.

If it went like that then maybe. If they sauced the sandwich at all....no thanks.

You should all be Rule 10'd....

oh wait, this is the Jokes and Fun Stuff forum....

Carry on......

The meat that went back in the bin wasn't sauced. But it did have little bits of lettuce and **** on it.

I DID say maybe I was being anal...

On a brighter note, I had the #10 (no not rule 10) combo at Firehouse today.

Brisket and cheddar....yummy....

That's an option from the Subway franchisees south of Atlanta.

In other areas of the country, they call it "Chipotle Mayo".

So I'm betting none of you guys would ever voluntarily eat prison food. Its made by prisoners. Sheesh...

BUT...Where do you think nearly all the cooks at most of your favorite chain restaurants learned to cook?? Many of those guys are covered with prison tattoos and have records for seriously heinous ****.

Oh well...At least they're working and some of them are dammed good in the kitchen. Just enjoy your food and don't stress too much about exactly how it was made. To much of that and you'll never eat...

Oh...AND at least you get to watch the Subway people make your food. If you want them to change gloves, just ask. They do it every time.

Google Maps used to have all sorts of fun stuff in it when it first came out. I remember that you could ask directions from China to Taiwan and it would include a step to swim across the ocean.

I just tried it though, and they must have fixed it. Hope that the programmers who put it in in the first place didn't get fired

This one still works --- ask for directions from I-494 in MN to Bryon Bay NSW 2481, Australia,

I just tried it though, and it did not take me that long to finish the swim.
My goodness! You really are a Bad Ass Girl!

It was either Google or Mapquest that routed me the 100mi path from Winnemucca to Gerlach, NV the first time I went. It's known as Jungo Rd (old state highway 49). Both now send you the sane way that's 210 miles and claimed to take 3 hours and 10 minutes instead of the actual 4 hours that 100 mile route took... in the dark.

LOL - I completed an IronMan in 2010 - that was a 2.4 mile ocean swim and I think that counts as Bad Ass. That and the other 138.2 miles I did that day.
