For those who were interested in the "Res Q Tag" (the emergency info tag I had on my jacket), I purchased them from here.

Go get one!!

Murph, thanks for planning a great ride. Erin and I both had a blast.

Grnarrowe, Thanks for escort home.

Thanks to everyone else for the great company on and off the road.

I'm hoping to be able to sift through the numerous pics Erin took tonight and post a few of the better ones.

At least this one's bigger.

Breadman-

You took plenty of good photos (thanks for posting) but there's something about this one that I really like.

Thanks to everyone else for the great company on and off the road.

Great avatar! Was it taken on Saturday night?

Thanks to everyone for coming Saturday. Many of us put in a long day to attend but special props go out to Grammps and Joe2Lawmaker for making the trip...very glad to have met and rode with you guys.

I would be remiss not to thank Alex for playing the role of lead bike for most of the ride and also for basically chauferring me riding with me from and back to Chicago on Saturday. I rode 602 miles on Saturday and Alex probably logged 50 or so more miles than that. It made for a long day but it was worth it! :thumbsupsmiley:

Aside from meeting and hanging out with everyone, I've thought long and hard about the top three things from Saturday's ride:

(insert drum roll here)

Number three: Riding Mindoro Cut

....

....

....

....

....

Number two: Our repeated rides over Wildcat (along with VStrom Bob's "faceplant" during the group photo ;) ... seriously, thanks for sacrificing yourself Bob!)

....

....

....

.....

......

Number one: Listening to Breadman's stories! :D

Finally, the most surprising moment for me was OFace's description of his job. But I can appreciate a dramatic and somewhat shocking job description. After all, I sell tampons. ;)

Thanks for the great day everyone!

During dinner at QS&L on Saturday night, I realized many of you are well traveled in the WI area. If you could, check out my post in completely off-topic.

clicky

Did you see his face when he said that? It was totally emotion less. All in the line of work. We can use people like that in Russian mafia :yahoo:

Wow. You guys are fast with the posts. I had to do a little resting after my trip (about 2500 mi.). I'll post more on that later.

The pictures I took are already covered by most of you. I'll add a few.

First. The Breakfast Club.

I don't know where they're going.... (I don't think they cared as long as the road was twisty :yahoo: )

"as long as we're waiting, maybe nobody will notice me sneak off"

And my favorite needs no description (because no words can describe him  ).

Thanks for outstanding time. I cannot say enough about how enjoyable it was.

A special thanks to Murph & Cougar. A job well done!

Joe may have a comment or two on our run to the river.
A certain LEO alleges I was doing 93 in a 55.

I may need all of you as character witnesses.

On second thought...

never mind :derisive:

And then there's
Too funny! Gramps, is there any way you could edit in a giant cartoonish arrow pointing to the specified left turn we blew by?

Thanks to everyone! Murph and cougar8000 for organizing and riding lead & sweep... bobwirka, for leading the strays back to the fold  ... everyone who shared their photos and videos.

That was a great time.

It's a Niche Market ;)

I'm sorry I had to miss this one, looked like great rides, great weather, and good people, but after the trip to CFO and then out to Seattle to visit my Sis, and then down to Oregon City to have GP suspensions install their brand of magic. Had to make the run from Oregon City to home in two days, mostly interstate except I did get off to visit the Craters of the Moon NP and rode the Snake River Canyon, so I was just out of time, out of gas, and out of tires.

BTW, should link those pictures to the CFO 2009 location thread, they're the best advertisement I've seen for Wisconsin in a long time.

Here's a few pics from the pillion's view.

This would have been a my favorite shot had the camera not focused on the object in the corner. :angry2:

The wee-strom must have taken the lead.

Of course she wouldn't miss the horses. I thought it was kind of cool that they saw us and wanted to play too.

all the rest of the photos that weren't too blurry can be found here.

There's a few videos I'll try to get up too once I figure out how to do a little editing.

No, Grnarrowe was kind a enough to escort us back to IL but didn't give us a chance to take a gas station nap.

I took it a few weeks ago at mile 1029 of our first ss1k ride. We had our mileage in and she was ready for a nap. Unfortunately we were only in Janesville and had another 100 miles to go to our final destination. I had built a comfortable margin of safety miles in to the route.

As fun as it was to make a loop around Wisconsin, riding with everyone through the south west region was much more exciting. Despite covering half the miles it was also more exhausting. Maybe it had something to do with all those curves. :)

Looks like a good time and ride. Always love to see roads, pretty country and bikes riding there. Wish I could have made it. I'm gonna have try harder.

I too had a great time Saturday even thou I had 2 near death moments. The first was on WI-60 in a left-right combo. I made the left without any problems but when I went right my peg AND my boot touched down and kinda threw me off. I ended up in the wrong lane mere inches from the edge  . The second was when we were on 136 in the gravel, I HATE GRAVEL!! As I went through some gravel the front tire started going side to side, almost a tank slapper but we were going slow enough I was able to straighten it out without doing a face plant into the gravel, did I mention I HATE GRAVEL!?

After that I was able to get into a good grove and went with it the rest of the day.

Here are some of the photos I took.

I had posted a topic in this forum regarding how to get a gpx file directly from Google Maps, as there seemed to be some interest at breakfast. However, it was moved to "Parts and Accessories"(???) by unknown forces.

Look there (it's a subforum). If you need more info, send me an email.
