The speedohealer instructions say to remove seat and locate this connector. Is it under the tool kit area I'm assuming? Thought I'd ask here to save some time removing "stuff" to locate it.

Thanks for any constructive help !

Remove the seat. Remove the left side panel, the silver one. Remove the plastic air box cover under the side panel and you will see the connector. It has a release tab on the top. Don't pull on the wires.

WOW ! Thanks for the very quick reply S76 ! Appreciate the help ! I've installed the speedohealer on other bikes I've owned and it works great, besides it "bugs" me that the speedo indicates optimistically on the FJR.

All you need to remove is the tank shroud (you don't HAVE to, but the shroud tab sits over the mating one on the side cover) and left side cover to gain access to the connector. There are fairly detailed instructions available here that are for the 'Yellow Box', but the Speedo Healer uses the same connection points:

Have they started making them with a plug and play wiring harness for the Gen-IIs?? Mine required that I splice into the speedo feed wire and I did NOT have to unplug the ECU connector.

Yes I saw that "bramfrank" regarding the "yellow box". No plug and play. Thanks for your reply too.

BTW...I changed my avatar from the AE I used to own to my new "A" model. Just couldn't be happy with the no clutch lever. Love the "A"! I unwound the throttle spring one turn, added throttlemeister and a Bill Mayer "saddle". Also have a Zumo 550 installed on a ram ball over the steering nut. Once the speedohealer is installed (tuesday) I think I'll be done with farkles...of course ya never know

Here's a link to the Speedohealer instructions for the FJR: No plug and play but looks easy to me.
