Most of you guys are much too particular about your hair.
Anyway, Ray has a good answer, a shiny clear coat over the matte paint makes it shine and easy to clean. Still, unless you really need a brand new FJR right now, there are other paint options from previous years that look good so there is no reason to buy a new one if you don't like the paint. It's not like the FJR has changed much since the first ES model.
