Split: Off-topic about R3 and Helite Vest

I had on a R3 and helite vest. All riding gear did its job. I came out with 2 bloody knuckles from cheap summer gloves. 50mph crash and I'm 100%.

I think it's worth a sidetrack on this thread to hear more about the Helite vest; let's hear some detail about how it did and how much of a difference you think it made. You're probably the first on here to experience it in a crash.

Spousal Unit and I have been wearing Helite vests for a year. Thankfully I cannot vouch for their effectiveness in an accident. We feel comfortable wearing them, the inconvenience factor is minor and their impact when riding in high heat is not overly obnoxious.
