First of all, Twowheelnut is only good for info on how to treat Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

By the way, did that rash you got in Vegas ever go away or do we just call you 'Skooter Castro' for now on? :****:

That's what I did, and he went and changed them on me!
Surprise.... the PHIDs once again adorn the deer-strike bike. The Spot HIDs were for test purposes only; they were not mine to keep.

The Spot HIDs were very, very good, but of the two, the PHIDs obviously put out more useful light (for my LASIKed-up eyes, anyway).

That having been said, I still consider the Spot HIDs an extremely attractive farkle, and they do retail considerably less than the PHIDs do....

Sorry to bring this post back .... what would be the best for night driving through deer infested woods at 70 mph... :D

I would think a pencil beam would get me killed! Do the Phid's spread out so that you could spot deer?

How about an M-1 Abrams?

An up-to-date Living Will would probably be best for riding through deer-infested woods at 70 mph.

As for the lights, you want the PHIDs or the Hella FF200 HID lamps for the wide-angle beamcast.

Ok.. thanks,

I'll work on that will now :D

So, considering that the Spot HIDs are a recommended buy, who sells them? Also, what would be a complementary pair of white beam foglights? I would like to use them in conjunction with low beams, primarily set for better cornering visibility.

Finally, whatever happened to the HO alternator stator project, still in pre-release?

Holy bankruptcy, Batman!  475 Somalians?!  Thanks, but I think I'll tape my MagLite to the handle bars.
The PHIDs were probably some of the most affordable to date when they first came out. They were $600 a pair as part of a group buy.

By the way, has anyone affixed driving lamps to the front brake caliper areas on this machine and if so, how do you like them there v. hanging off the mirror mounts?  I just always thought it might be better to have those turn with the direction of the bars.
No way, dude! You increase unsprung weight and the light is just the opposite of what it needs to be. Placement should be as high and wide as possible to get it down the road instead of being lost into the pavement right in front of the bike.

And, yes you're right. I just found this thread. :p

So cleaning it would get it to match the gay-assed chromed lights, eh?
Nope, it wouldn't.

Because as previously mentioned in this thread, these lamps were for test purposes only, and were removed to send back to the vendor shortly after returning from the Iron Butt Rally.

so,, are saying that at the 350 mile stops you are not getting gas,,just doing the stop and moving on ??
I'd say that, at 350 miles, I'd have been pushing the bike for about 100 miles if I didn't have a fuel cell.
