States with the Rudest Drivers

NM has its own issues. Sometimes, I wanna choke someone, but the worst out-of-state drivers are from Texas, Oklahoma, and Arizona.Oklahoma drivers are the dumbest, Arizona drivers are the biggest assholes, and Texas drivers just need to go the Hell home. They are dumb and assholes; a perfect storm of stupidity!

I vote for Miami. That's right, Miami. They seem to have their own state down there. "Florida laws?! We don't need no steenkeen Florida laws. We make our own"!! They are the worst!

Miami seems to be the climax to the "rudeness marathon" that starts at the south county line of Martin County on 95 or US1 and goes clear to Monroe County just above the keys. You can't escape it either, Military Trail and Jog Rd are as bad or worse. South Florida is where I learned never to use turn signals, it gives the jerks too much of an advantage.

On 36th street leaving Miami airport, there's a light at Lajeune. Straight ahead is the on ramp to get to the 112. It's two lanes that immediately turn into one. There are two lanes on 36th facing it. Everybody and their grandmother FLOORS IT so they can be in the lead when it narrows out which is, RIGHT NOW! I've seen two idiots swap paint and cement barriers the whole way up that ramp. All the time! It's like and old Miami Vise car chase. I hate Miami like poison. Thank goodness I don't have to go to that airport much. I send my boot camps to deal with that.

I'd like to see a survey on the nicest drivers. In my experience, hands down, Canadians in the western provinces. Here in Montana, it's a mixed bag, some very considerate and some who don't give a shit. As "most dangerous" place to drive, I'd nominate the Williston Basin oilfields (usually wrongly referred to as "The Bakken," which is a geological zone) of western North Dakota and eastern Montana.

In my observation I believe California ranks right up there in the top 5. Especially because of the propensity for self appointed ass holes to drive just below the speed limit in the passing lane. Then they do it in other states as well. It is better than an even bet that when you run up on a vehicle "lane patrolling" in the west there will be a California plate on it. If I were a LEO I would stop and cite every damn one of these idiots. I'd have no trouble "making my quota"!

I have to agree with you.

It seems like when I come up on somebody homesteading in the left lane on I-15, 90% of them have California plates.

It's funny that on the chart of the states that complain the most, California shows up the most.

I've noticed the CA "herd" instinct also while driving out in the middle of 'no where' Nevada and Idaho. I did drive commercially in CA for 25 years and by and large the drivers in Idaho are much worse. I hate to admit this as I recently moved back to Idaho, my 'home state'. Boise really is dangerous for motorcycles. The drivers are more clueless and dangerous than in the Bay area... Darwin at work?

The best time to travel through Boise is between 3 and 5am at the start of a long day on the bike for sure. Not kidding! That's been my experience for a few years now. Of course after leaving Boise at those hours, traveling further east or west, it's more time consuming to find a good fast moving cage to tuck in behind at a safe distance and have them run interference until daylight.

I had no problems when I spent 5 weeks in the North-Western States but as soon as I got to Calgary I almost got ran over by a cowboy in a bigass pickemup truck. The asshole had probably moved to Calgary from Toronto but that is a whole different story and don't get me started. I also had some moron in Nanimo on Vancouver Island screaming at me to go back to Ontario when she spotted the Ontario plate on my bike while I was stopped at a light. I put that one down to the fact that she probably had not yet had her morning BC Gold Fatty and had not yet mellowed out.

South Texas is so dangerous now with "fracking" and overloaded roads i am starting to understand the tire lottery.....population control by blowout...you can fit almost 17 people in an old suburban with no a/c..."junior" wants to be a shit ?....nobody gets belts but put junior next to that window....this happens throughout the year but peaks in summer....kids get strewn about the roads, while jesus (heysoos) just strayed into your lane...talk about rude...this will surely lengthen a commute...then there's all those disabilities for the ones that live....figure 15 minutes per ambulance i reckon....i dont understand it but it makes having large families more important....i've been to Miami and i have to say there is a kind of kinship with driving styles....also Manila, Busan, and Bangkok.....i am still amazed though, that so many drivers have lived this long....

I'm on my 29th or 30th state on this ride and am heading NW in Florida after 3 days in Key West. I have seen some real dumb **** aggressive douchetard drivers in the past 6 weeks. The worst was a Miami SUV that forced a pass on me on one of the bridges in the Keys southbound a few days ago. Double solid line, oncoming traffic, I'm going 5-6 mph over the limit, cars in front of me and this asshole roars up behind me and straddles the center line forcing me over as well as oncoming traffic. You can imagine that there is not a lot of space on the bridge. ****, I thought he was trying to kill us. He continued this shit until he was long gone. Earlier, Miami freeway traffic was scary. Next worst was Nova Scotia. As I am pulling up an on ramp accelerating, I see a large black pick up really coming quickly on my left which is fine but just as he passes me, he brakes hard and cuts in front of me to take the off ramp. I had to brake hard, swerve left and barely missed him. As he flies around the off ramp corner, his hand is out the window giving me the one finger salute. Another attempt at manslaughter upon me. I can happily imagine beating both of these assholes with blunt objects. SC drivers like to cut in front of you without notice. I believe I must be invisible, or they are blind, or they hate me, or they are really stupid.

Wow! I'm surprised to hear this. My wife and I just visited Boise and I found the drivers there to be very good! I even brought my bicycle with me and rode around your city. I was given all kinds of room and never "buzzed", honked at, or given the one finger wave. I couldn't even wave a car around to pass me. They just stacked up behind me. I was amazed! BTW, we loved your city and are actually considering moving there within a few years!
