Starting a new thread for comments.

I'll start with I think the Giants are a good team that keeps getting better, but I can't bet against the Patriots this year.

19-0 baby!

I just hope there are some good movies to rent or on TV that day, since I have ZERO interest.
Yet, you're interested enough to post here. Hmmmmm....

I'll probably have it "on" but I'm known to wnader in and out, do chores, come back and check on the score...then, if its a close game, watch the last quarter.

I'm not the "fan" I once was.

My speed, too, MM2.

I was pullin' for Green Bay. Brett Favre had a great year considering the career he has in his rear view mirror. It would have been neat for him to get to the Super Bowl.

so happy the giants took care of the pack. now i do agree that would have made for a much better superbowl to watch. but being from MN, i just can't cheer for the cheese herd. farve did what farve does best, throwing interceptions.

go giants! although i don't really care who wins. i just can't wait for the superbowl! my new big screen is ready!

Yeah, 'cept this section don't count.
The only thing that keeps this thread outta the NEPRT is it will end in 2 weeks. ;)

Obviously I'm a NE fan, so I'm going to say they will decimate the G-men.

The Giants have a couple of offensive weapons that are easily neutralized assuming that Coach B does his homework (and you know he does). The Patriots, OTOH are like a whack-a-mole. You double team the wide-outs and they kill you up the middle. Blitz and they throw the quick screen. And they have a brand new run game they just broke out for the playoffs. Oh, and they have a field goal kicker that hits more than 30% of the time... :glare:

I may be naive, but win or lose I think that this year's Patriot team shows that it is still possible, even in this day and age of free agency, mega-buck business oriented owners, and money grabbing players to assemble the best team of players with the main enticement being a better chance of winning it all.

Mike I have come to expect more from you, tsk tsk.

So let me speak up for the G-men with a little story. Back in the early 90's, following up on Alabama's national championship ('93?) we decided to take a little road trip to see LSU play in Tuscaloosa. My buddy, although an LSU alumn, was from Alabama so he didn't give us much chance - in those years we had some pretty bad teams. Everybody wrote us off. It got so bad that on the way there a cop in Mississippi let us go out of pity, before the game was ever played.'Course LSU won, that's why they play the game. Go Giants!

You're right on there. The Giants already knocked off three better teams to get the the stuporbowl.

And at halftime I hear Eli is scheduled to get up with Tom Petty and sing "Don't treat me like that!"

The Pats linebackers, being a bunch of old farts from the '60's, will be so moved they will boycott the second half...

...it could happen.

It's that faint glimmer of hope that suckers me to watch these games, 'cause in all honesty I think the Pats win. It might be close, it might be exciting, but in the end the Pats win somehow.
