s'matter? Been too long since the Vikings made playoffs?

There is some truth to that. I think I have watch one game all the way through this year. That is about all the interest I have in football anymore. I will watch the Superbowl, but it really is because of the commercials for me and not so much as the game.

I am naive.

I was hoping for more enlightened commentary such as "Will the Giants double team whats-his-name with the 23 touchdowns this year?"; or "Will the Patriots send in the corners to rush Manning." or SOMETHING more than the Pat's suck or I have a TV so I'll watch it.....

Well, I do have TV, so I plan to watch it.

Here's my G-man defense analysis:

Brady will come out throwin', but not to Moss because he will be doubled teamed right off the bat. The corner will play him up tight and count on the safety to come over in time to stop him if he gets by.

Early on, Strahan, Tuck, and the Giants linebackers are going to shut the running game down with a lot of pressure up front early on. But the Pats will back them off a bit with a short passing game. The Giants will take away the underneath routes with a mix of cover 1 and cover 2 schemes to try to force Brady to throw long, but he'll lure them closer to the line with some outside screens. Once the safeties start creeping up to help out in the middle and defend the edges, we'll see Moss stretch the field out to open the deep middle area where Gaffney and the others can go to work.

If Brady gets going early, the only chance the Giants defense will have is to copy the Ravens defense. Ray Lewis explained that they constantly shifted around until 10 seconds showed on the play clock. That took away Brady's ability to call a second audible and adjust blocking schemes at the line. If they do that and send five on the rush every other play, they should be able to get Brady out of his rythym or at least confuse some of the other players.

Maybe tomorrow I'll write up a Pats defense analysis...

If you think that sort of analysis is important then you are, if you do it because you find it fun then that's a different story. I played a football pool for five years. I picked the teams by who had won last year, guessing of they hadn't played. A prof I knew analyzed every thing he could think of to pick the winners - injury reports, weather, key matchups, etc. He would win more than me, but we both got beat by the guy that picked his teams at random (some weeks he would go down the list alternating home, away, home, etc.). So have fun analyzing the game.

Well I didn't tell the whole story, we were betting against the spread. Those dudes in Vegas know their stuff.

I just hope there are some good movies to rent or on TV that day, since I have ZERO interest.

I feel the same way Trigger.

so happy the giants took care of the pack. now i do agree that would have made for a much better superbowl to watch. but being from MN, i just can't cheer for the cheese herd. farve did what farve does best, throwing interceptions.

Think I'll stay home that day & avoid traffic. TV for me . . .
Pizza and beer and the game on a HD big screen TV. It doesn't get much better. If I could ride the FJR it WOULD be better but winter here in Vermont is getting in the way!

Wow, looks like Brady has a wardrobe malfunction going on. A busted wheel with a cast already on? That can't be good for the Pats pack...

According to ESPN he has the boot on going to girlfriend's, and then not afterwards. Brady needs a sympathy lay?

I smell something fishy cookin'! :innocent:
Haha, I wondered, too, if the Hoody was up to something new. :assassin:

It doesn't take much to spook Eli...this will probably have him convincing himself he can actually win now.

Gotta give Bill and gang credit, they're a resourceful bunch... on and off the field.

I wonder if she fell for it.

If nothing else, it may effect the defensive game planning for the Giants. This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the "secret" photos. All a part of the gamesmanship, I'd bet.

I mean, if he wanted to hide something, do you think he would he be hobbling up to his paparazzi hounded girlfriend's apartment?

Okay, everyone just calm down. Looks like breaking news has it that Brady is fine and is not wearing a cast. His new look was merely just that, a look. Sounds like it is catching on with his biggest fans all throughout New England. It's amazing the influence a super model can have on a guy.

Just stirring the pot a little.

I enjoy all the posts, funny or insightful ones -- or both! Doesn't really matter. Already have my bets in so that's not an issue. But hearing what the teams may want to do to stop each other makes watching the game more fun for me -- looking to see if the various analyses are on the mark; and it makes the next two weeks go by faster.
