It's really the reason for the post to begin with. To try and get the most bang for the buck and hopefully learn from others experiences and eliminate mistakes in the process.
You might want to consider a rear shock that has ride height adjustability as well as one that has an easily adjustable preload (for when you are loaded and or/two up). Consider visiting a local suspension shop that does work for the racers in your area. Traxxion Dynamics (linky here) could be your friend. Spendy, but one-stop-shopping.

I purchased the Wilbers during the group buy. IMO (and held by many others like Feejer/Weejer man, Highlander, etc.) is that the rear is undersprung for my weight. I am in the process of having my forks redone before WFO.

IIRC, Klaus no longer is a Wilbers dealer, so I don't know how much help he is likely to be to those who are having problems with the Wilbers.

OK...I have another question for you guys. I got a Wilber rear shock in the 2nd GB and so far so good. What I need to know is, would you send the Wilber rear shock to GP or someone else to have it serviced (other than Klaus that is)? This winter I'll need to do mine plus I'd like to have it checked to make sure the spring and valving is correct for my riding style. TIA

330+200+gear=overloading the bike no matter what suspension you have.

The weight limit is in the mid-400's IIRC.

RTFM

Old shock junk on left, new HyperPro spring on original shock on right. Feels great.

Klaus is very capable of servicing the Wilbers. Guys are having sucess with other suspension tuners also. In America is good to have choices. The call is yours.

I kinda wanted more feedback from you guys that have had the modded suspensions to rest my mind and convince me that the monies spent transformed the FJR enough to justify the changes other than bragging rights.
money spent to improve OEM suspensions tends to be the best investment you can make on nearly any street bike. cans, PC3's, grip heaters, etc. can all be nice or convenient but suspension improvements and tops when it comes to return on investment.

trick 1 is to figure out your budget. you can go hog wild on a suspension and spend thousands of dollars. but if you only ride a grand's worth of it, then why spend 80% of the cost for that last 20% of improvement? that's why i was looking at Works until the Wilber's group buy happened. i could have spend double the Wilber's price for Ohlin stuf or even more than that for a full-bore trip to a Traxxion shop but i knew that it would be a waste of money for my style of riding.
