Damn it sucks sometimes being on this island. You don't get much hockey out here.

Went to school in Pittsburgh, so still a Pens fan. Been a sad couple of years. Let's see what Crosby can do....

:clapping: :clapping:

enjoy the games.....

:D

hockey? wuzz zat  aint that the game they play on ice where they beat each other up? why they do'n that? it's 98 degrees outside, beside's we don't do ice down here in MS, unless it's in tea, or chill'n brooskees, other than these two purposes, ice has no other intrinsic entertainment value, everything else associated w/ice involves uncomfortable cold and driving hazards, which on two wheels could provide some form of demented entertainment for some forum members

That's why we Canucks do it.....we do it for your viewing pleasure :)

You know, UFC is fun to watch, even though they have introduced many pansy ass rules in the last 5 years.

I have always enjoyed real fighting whether it's UFC, boxing, or hockey.

As an old bartender in Nashville explained to me about the Predator's attendance:

"When the Predators first came to town, the attendance was slim. People went out of curiosity. Now the arena is packed for every game and you want to know why? Because, here in Nashville, we appreciate a real fight. Hockey is the toughest thing we've ever seen and we love it!"

Hockey rules, and UFC is fun to watch too.

Canes and Oilers. Oh well. I would have never picked the Oilers at the start of the playoffs. At the start I was thinking:

West: Flames, Sharks, Ducks (in that order...yeah I'm an Avs fan but I know determination when I see it)

East: Canes, Sens, Sabres (in that order)

I know the West better than I know the East and I picked the East better than did the West! Oh well.

At least I picked the Canes pretty early in this thread ;)

yeah!!! go Wild!! :clapping:

oh. am i wrong? opps. ok. nevermind. time to go ni-night.

Canes 1, Oilers 0 as a result of a 5 to 4 game where the Oilers went ahead 3 to 0 and the Canes scored the winning goal in the last 30 seconds of the game due to a mis queue between the goalie and their Captain.

It was extremely exciting, and frankly, it was telling of a series where the Canes will have to play full tilt to win this series. the Oilers were clearly dominant for most of the game!

Wow...crappy way for the Oilers to lose, but there's no good way to lose a game like that!

Roloson, the Oilers goalie that has played a phenominal playoff run, was knocked out in this game. To take an 8th seed team to the finals and get knocked out by injury in the first game of the finals must be truly ******! Sorry Roloson, you deserved to stand behind your team for the entire deal.

This sucks. Roly better take some steroids or something and get better quick.

I guess Roloson is finished for the year. Man, I sure hope Ty Conklin can get over his stupid rookie miscue and do the job that needs doing to get this team to the 4 W's.

Wow, what a game last night. Bad ending but incredibly exciting. GO OILERS!!!

This sport is a 10 times more exciting to watch than the NBA, MLB or NFL ( in my less than humble opinion).

I think that Conklin mistake was just as much the defender's fault and miscommunication like that often happens between the defenders and a back up goalie who they aren't used to playing with. Oh well.

Canes sure put it to the Oilers last night. Ouch. Well, I have a feeling the Oilers will explode at home for game 3 and the Canes will come back for game 4 and we'll end up with a 3-1 series coming back to Raliegh and that the Oilers will win game 5 in Raliegh and lose game 6 in Edmonton. I hope it goes to game 7 because I hate it when the visiting team wins the series.

As ever, I'm picking the Canes to win.
