CRIPES, $285.00 for the Heli-Bars, holy crappage.....

I am unaware if Heli-Bars can be bought from anyone other than Heli-Bar, but if so, I'd like to hear about it!

Daaaaaaymn, $285.00 right now is not very do-able.....

I've got a friend who lives down the street who has those on a Honda 400 he uses as a track bike... he loves them, and they look pretty trick.

The first of my 3 kids has just moved out! Two to go!

Time for another bike!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

There is a pattern here. Two kids gone. Two bikes in the garage. :beach:

So if a guy has 3 kids then 1 kid = 1 bike

Therefore, it makes sense that I get 1.5 bikes for 1 kid since I only have 2 kids.

You shouldn't have half a bike, so I'll round up...therefore I get 2 bikes for the first kid that moves out right?

Oh come on Warchild. That is one of the most comfortable bikes out there :) What would one ever need helibars for? So what rally are you going to ride that one in?

I just lost the bike I had exactly like that one. The cadet I was storing it for graduated last month so now he can ride it without fear of the Air Force. I did manage to keep it from gathering any dust for him though.

That is sweet. Congrats.

I asked my wife for one when they came out last year. Her reply was, I'm going to have to say NO to the R1. I guess I shouldn't have been lane splitting in triple digits and scraping pegs in the corners with her on the back of the feejer. Now she knows my game. Oh well. Congrats again, very nice.

I'd prolly agree if'in I was a young 20-something like yourself. Let's chat again when you're in your mid-40's, and we'll see if you have the same perspective. :D

Big negative..... this red beast will remain in the canyons and steppes of the High Desert of eastern Washington; no LD riding for the R1. That's what the Blackbird and FJR are for....

Next thing you know, we'll see WC trailering his R1 to Sturgis...

I did an 8 hour trip on the R1. The last hour or so was pretty rough for this 48 year old out of shape fat man. I purchased the helibars the next week. :weight:

I don't know which of your transgressions is more deserving to BAN you for LIFE: mentioning my name in the same sentence with "trailer", or mentioning my name in the same sentence with "Sturgis".

But on a positive note, now that I just finished watching two Americans and two Yamaha's DOMINATE at Laguna Seca just know, I think I'll take this gorgeous red R1 of mine and head for the canyons.....

You got me with that one Warchild. I know the feeling as now that I'm used to the FJR I want an ATV or a dirt bike to go with my snowmobile. Oh the fun nevers ends.

Hehe, yea, I thought you'd like both of those words. :haha:

Have fun canyon carving...

After seeing it stock on the Raven model (and as Canes reminded me earlier in this thread) I decided to go ahead and re-finish the titanium exhust cover and fasteners to a nice Satin Black color.

The stock "off-gold" color never looked quite right with me, particularly since most of the bike's accents are black:

But it was nothing a can of Krylon Satin Black couldn't fix right up:

Viewing the bike in it's entirety, the black exhaust cover lends itself well to the rest of the bike's various black accents/covers:

This farkle came out looking pretty good, didn't it fellas?

warchild, the red r-1 looks great but the black with red wheel tints is baaaaaaadddd !!!! As for the heli-bars, take the pain and enjoy!!!

I think a little black powdercoating is in order for the rearsets and brake/shift levers, don'tcha think, Dale?

P.S. We still haven't seen your new color-matching bike leathers.
