Yamaha Racing put up a pretty cool vid of KR riding the TZ750 at Indy, with a nice surrounding interview. Check out Rossi's reaction as the bikes go by.

"I had my bone doctor on standby"

Many thanks for posting link, Crash Cash! Glad to see there are other lovers of American Flat Track Racing here on FJR Forum.

https://www.vft.org/rouit.html Old Michael, Have you been to the Dan Rouit Flat Track Racing Museum? I'd ride to Kali to tour it!

Just some food for thought guys, since it turns out there are a bunch of us flat track racing fanatics here on our FJR Forum:

Maybe next Summer, we ought to think about planning a meet at one of the Nationals: Sacramento, Carlsbad or other spots.

Wow, Bust; Scott Parker was one of the very best of the Best. Next June on way to CFR, could you arrange a meet for us?

Those were some really good years. I roadraced professionally back in those days and always thought the dirt track guys were absolutely nuts! Flat track is some of the best racing you can find anywhere.

Pending timing and location, I'm in. Springfield maybe??

Oh and for the video, looks like the old guy still has what it takes.

some may have noticed I put King Kenny's signature on the sides of my trunk

I used to be messermized watching Flat Track and "Bruce Springstein's Brother"

you know whom...

CMA buddy bought an orange HD XR1200

I was there at the Indy Twin-Mile (it's been reported that more motorcyclists have said they were at that race than the stands could possibly hold -- or, tickets sold...). The spectators were all standing and screaming as Kenny passed everyone on the straights -- only to be passed in the turns.

Flat-track fan? Oh yea. In my youth I was invited to an 'outlaw' flat-track race (somewhere in MD?) one weekend. I declined the invitation saying something-like I was a road-race fan (I thought that was the only true racing...). Little did I know... As it turned out, I changed my mind and attended my first flat-track race. I was at the 1st turn and saw them line-up and get the start flag -- they held the throttles WFO and, damn, they just threw the bikes side-ways into the turn...

I was hooked for life...

No prob... that and King Kenny is one of my personal gods. Ranks right up there on the 'ol hero list. He's probably got more racing talent in his little finger than I do in my entire body. Heck, it's one reason I bought an RZ-350 'way back when.

I was there for the races this past summer. Absolutely a great time and a relive of a historic event. Cool vid.

Wow...Kenny Roberts and Jay Springsteen...names I'd read of during the 70s in my CYCLE Magazine...while dreaming of cross country trips on a brand new BMW R90/6. (Only $4000 - brand new back then...minimum wage was $2.10/hour)

I'm finally getting those trips in.

I rememmber seeing him at the Castle Rock TT's in the mid 70's, what fun that was! I hated it when Mount Saint Helens blew it ruined the tract, no more Nationals.

As of 2 or 3 years ago ,they still had a big Non National event at Castle Rock ,where they opted to pay a huge purse to the riders intead of giving it to the AMA for sanctioning fees. You might check, they may still be doing it. If the rest of you want to see the ultimate in drafting wars ,Plan a vacation trip to the springfield Il. Mile National, either on Memorial day weekend or labor day weekend. And this year on the schedule are 3 races,(one shorttrack and 2 miles ) in Prescott AZ. for you left coasters.
