Kevin, sorry to hear about your spill. Let me share this - a few years ago my buddy and I were practicing wheelies on his farm in KY on a Saturday afternoon. I landed with the front wheel turned and I highsided, landing hard on my left arm/left side. My buddy said "That thing tossed you like a big sack of poop!". Pleased with that, he repeated it! After the groaning subsided and I got my wind back, he helped me up and got me back on the bike so I could make the 15 mile ride home - and get off his farm, LOL. I suffered through Sunday and work on Monday, then my wife convinced me to go to the hospital after work. Found 6 broken ribs, got some meds, back to work Tues. He liked telling the story at work, and I got to hear about why motorcycles have two wheels.
Here is a tip, the meds make you feel better, but it doesn't mean you ARE better. I reinjured myself thinking I was OK, so I tried to install a Class IV hitch on my F-150. Mistake - felt that gross ripping/tearing sensation. Then I was cutting the grass on the riding lawnmower - what can happen there? Well, I got stuck in the ditch and was agitated and dumb enough to think lifting it to get it unstuck was a good idea. Mistake, same thing. Healing prolly took 2X as long thanks to the painkillers and my poor judgment, but I hate being housebound!
Hope your healing goes well.
Eric
